They had to know more is all I can say. If anyone knows Lukas day to day it was them. Now we have to see what else both teams do I guess.

Lakers a clear winner and even more of a winner when Dallas don’t win shit in the next 2-3 years and stuck with a 34 year old AD as the leading man with a bunch of role players. You never trade a player of Luka caliber at his age willingly. It’s a shit move that only looks good if they get a title before Kyrie leaves

You were going to have a once in a generation player for at least 12 years and possibly forever if you wanted to give him another deal when he’s 31. This ain’t a move you make for someone 6 years older than him.

I have to think they could have got more and I tend to agree with you.

He has a NTC so he would have to waive it.....not sure how he feeling right now but I guess we will find out soon enough.
100%. If they had more time they could see how it looks, but I think they would need a season like it took Kyrie and Luka of your turn my turn before it started working. Both guys are very ball dominant and don't play a lick of defense. I think Bron would waive it if he could go to the Dubs, the Heat, the Cavs, or outside chance the Knicks. He isn't going to Detroit or Memphis that's for sure. And Bronny would need to be promised a spot

Reports are he is staying past the trade deadline....possible he asks out if he signs his player option in the summer but we shall see.

Yep and Rob was looking to make a blockbuster deal, not just another DFS type deal.

Yeah, word was that he wasn't giving up and 1sts unless it was for a difference maker...well, he got one.

Also shows that sometimes the best thing to do is to not be too aggressive, sit back and see who calls you. lol

James hasn't been handling the ball as much this season.....Reaves and AD have been doing that.....so maybe he can work with Luka running the offense and Bron playing off the ball?

People said Irving and Luka couldn't work and it did.

Luka and Kyrie didn’t work until they had a training camp together. They missed the playoffs when Kyrie got traded there middle of season.

As I posted somewhere (lol) it's a win now move...so you're right...for it to be considered good...they have to get a title. In that way, it's similar to what the Lakers did in giving up all of those assets to get AD. They got the 2020 title...so it was a good trade.

Difference obviously is that AD was only about 26 when the Lakers got him.

Oh yeah, I'm still working on it because I really like AD...but this was the right move for both basketball and non-basketball reasons.

Yeah, I woke up around 5am my time (CST) my best friend had texted me 20 minutes earlier (he in NY so EST) and we been texting back and forth ever since.....wild.

We both crashed after the Knicks game.

It was a pairing similar to Lebron and D-Wade with the Heat. It was never going to be "comfortable", but once they learned not to "take turns", they were able to make it work.

Kyrie and AD shouldn't have to take very long to figure out how to play together.

The place wasn't quite the same without you, @fightinfunbags

We might not always agree (we prolly disagree more than we agree) but it's good to have you back. More than just myself have said they wished you were still here....seen you make a brief cameo here and there but here's to hoping you stick around.
Actually, I just got word that my request to have my privileges returned to post on the Politics Forum was denied. I like to post about more than sports. I like to post about current events and culture along with politics. I’m going to go back to what I was doing and post elsewhere going forward. I never knew that when I voluntarily gave up my access to the PF that this would be a permanent decision. It’s been fun and I really have enjoyed the interactions on this NBA forum in particular. Everybody has a strong sports acumen that goes beyond the NBA and with the exception of people like eagles nut everybody seems like good people at their core who you would want to share a beer with. Be well everybody and take care of yourselves.

I was more talking about the Luka/lebron pairing. Kyrie and AD is an easy match

Nah bruh, the PF sucks anyway, it’s just as you left it, asinine partisan bickering and the topic doesn’t change that. Lol

This is so stupid. AD is a hurt, old big. Career basically over. Luka just getting started.

Maybe you are paid to post stupid NBA takes. The league likes your conversation, phony.
Career basically what now?

Well, pop in from time to time then, bud.

Good luck in love, life and the pursuit of happiness.
