it will be another class in stupidity if they hire Reddick.

Maybe. The thing with Redick is that he is an unknown.

A lot of folks seem to think he'll be good and this isn't the first HC job he's been considered for.

But it does feel like a reach back into the past when they hired Pat Riley out of the broadcast booth.

That turned out okay.

Assuming they hire him...

If it works...they'll be called geniuses.

If not...then yeah, another class in stupidity.

Imo, for Redick to work, they need to give him similar years to what they offered Hurley to hold down some of the inevitable "Lebron's hire" narrative.

They also need to make sure he gets solid, experienced assistants to lean on.

Retaining Phil Handy would be a good start.

Should’ve just offered 17 for Lue

Yeah, generally speaking, the Lakers FO hasn't been as bad as folks want to claim, but they definitely fucked up lowballing Lue and wanting to pick his assistants.

Can't do that to any experienced HC, let alone one that has as much finals experience as Lue.

Not necessarily.

He has the upside to be a very good coach. Obviously knows the game inside and out. When you play in the NBA as long as he did as a sub par athlete, you have to be a very intelligent player.

How well he can relate to players, communicate with players and make adjustments remains to be seen. But I think he is well worth someone taking a shot on.

He might not work out. But he has the upside to be top notch.
seems like as good a shot to work out as any of the other candidates.

I agree with this.

They need to give Reddick time. And I agree that they need to be patient moving forward.

But Ham wasn’t worth the investment.

And now, the LeBron era is nearing its end no matter what. Whatever coach they hire has a post LeBron future.

Ham didn’t have the time for the Lakers to be patient with him. Especially after losing the locker room.

If they we’re willing to pull the rip cord so quickly they never should’ve hired him

He won’t be any of that if his first job is the Lakers.

We will see.

But I think pretty silly to rule that out.

Darvin Ham was actively bad. Doesn’t take much out of Reddick to improve and earn a bit of a Leash.
He has an agenda.

He is in the Hurley thread saying, "Nobody wants the Lakers job" over and over. When that just isn't true.

Weak ass trolling

They aren’t serious people and the fan’s expectations is championships. This new hire will be there 2-3 years and shit canned.

Certainly a possibility.

Far from the certainty you are claiming.

Recent track record backs this up though so strong possibility this happens. They haven’t came any coach around long since the last Phil Jackson stint

It’s the trend with the Lakers and LeBron reset is coming in 2-3 years as well. They aren’t a championship team. They don’t have a championship roster. But that will be the expectation.
