I don,t understand why competent owners hire such incompetent coaches in la.

Like the one that won the title? Or are you talking about the one that only got to the conference finals?

You've got the competent and incompetent reversed in your statement. Events planner Jeanie and ex-agent Rob are in over their heads.

The fact that Jerry West was ever allowed to be a GM for another franchise pretty much says it all

It's not even that they make bad hires. It's that they are too impatient.

As I've posted before, since Phil retired, they have changed coaches every 2 years.

After Phil they hired Mike Brown who was fired after 71 games.

Then Mike D'Antoni for 2 years.

Then Byron Scott for 2 years.

Then they hired Luke Walton with the idea that he and the young players they had drafted would learn and grow together. Then they brought in Lebron and fired Luke. He lasted 3 years.

Then they brought in Frank Vogel, won a title and fired him after 3 years because he didn't want to coach Westbrook.

Then they hired Darvin Ham and fired him after 2 years.

You can't build a culture when you're changing coaches that often.

That's what I liked about the Hurley offer...it was for 6 years which shows they were looking at giving him time they hadn't given any previous coaches.

Not necessarily.

He has the upside to be a very good coach. Obviously knows the game inside and out. When you play in the NBA as long as he did as a sub par athlete, you have to be a very intelligent player.

How well he can relate to players, communicate with players and make adjustments remains to be seen. But I think he is well worth someone taking a shot on.

He might not work out. But he has the upside to be top notch.

and why no one should use "but (pick a player) agrees with me and he actually played" as a basis to "prove" you are right in a discussion.

Or why a story you don’t like from somewhere actually is now the justification
