Overall the team faired rather well. Dunning kept the team in the game. Bull pen looked better. Got our hits again today. Sometimes you play well and still lose. That's baseball.

Struck out the side in the second around a walk.
Struck out the side again, but gave up a run on a walk and a sinking line drive single that I thought the RF caught.

That does it for Leiter tonight. He really looked good tonight. When he wins a World Series game for us in 2 or 3 years, I.can say I saw his first professional game in person.

And baseball ‘experts’ ten years ago ranked him as a higher prospect above Bryce Harper and Mike Trout. Oops!
Don’t know how that is possible. Trout and Harper were drafted in the first round. Moore was drafted in the 8th round.

Two publications —MLB.com and Baseball Prospectus — ranked Moore as the No. 1 prospect in baseball before the 2012 season. He was listed higher than Harper (No. 2), Mike Trout (No. 3), Manny Machado (No. 6), Gerrit Cole (No. 11), and Francisco Lindor (No. 32).

One name we won't be seeing in Arlington in the future os Grant Anderson. He came in in the 8th and looked shaky. They left him in with a 4 run lead in the 9th and he proceeds to give up back to back to back home runs to begin the inning. Then he settled down and got two quick out, and the manager takes him out at that point.

The manager brought in knuckleballer Jordan Procyshen to get the final out and get the save. Procyshen is a catcher.

Catcher, David Garcia had some impressive at bats for Frisco. Crim and Duran did well too.

Our pitching and defense have been exposed up in Toronto. Hitting is good. I guess everything is as advertised, but it fucking sucks to lose 2 in a row to start the season, it sucks to lose to this particular opponent. and I really don’t want to get swept.

the radio guys were saying the team might improve by 20 games in the win column this year compared to last year. So far I am not seeing it.

Not sure where you're getting the defensive issues from. Also, Toronto is one of the top 3 teams in the league. Also, it's been 2 games.

Usually the first 40 games of the season you can pretty much ignore for various reasons...

75 Reds went 20-20 then went 88-34 the rest of the way and won WS.

I'm not saying the Rangers will do the same just saying be patient things can be quite different a month or so from now, call ups, trades, sent back to minors... :noidea:

Yeah those first 40 games gives us a chance to see who’s legit and who’s not. We could have guys like K Calhoun, W Calhoun, White, Ibanez, Adolis, Dunning, Perez, Howard etc not work out.. but the hope is we will have some of our prospects knocking on the door and ready to fill in for the incompetent and or injured.

Braves were under .500 as late as July last year and lost their best player early on.

Baseball has a long season and there's no way to predict what happens.
