Game Thread: Thanksgiving: Bears at Lions

Losing this game to the Lions in their current state (even worse than when we played them a few weeks back) would be the ultimate low point for this franchise since the Trestman era. IMO

There's talks around here in Detroit of fans boycotting the game. They have a gimpy Jeff Driskel starting. With a run game headed by a guy who didn't have a job three weeks ago. Which is only to be outdone by their putrid defense. Last week, they gave up over 500 yards of offense. On Sunday, they lost to the biggest clown show in the NFL. The Washington Redskins. Who are led by a QB that appears to have no business starting in the league and would rather take selfies with fans instead of going on the field to take the final kneel down of the game in his first NFL win.

This offense could totally lose to anyone. But man, oh man... this would be bad. I would be sitting down for my Thanskgiving dinner around 4-4:30 contemplating football suicide.

I pray they don't do this. But it would be such an appropriate final nail in the coffin of the 2019 Chicago Bears.

We'll probably eek out another incredibly unimpressive win. IMO

What do we even do at TE now? Good lord. I already live in Detroit and am willing to play TE for the Bears Thursday. FWIW

We can't score...until that changes, we can lose to anyone, anywhere, any time. This game is no different. 90% of our games over the past year have been the same story...Pray the opponent doesn't get to 20 or we lose. And we may lose even if they score less.

I'll grin and bear it as always...but it's so f*cking tiring.

Wow. Per Ian Rapoport, the Lions will start 3rd string QB David Blough.

I rather face the guy we have film and experience on. We know he pretty much stinks.

This would be such a Bears thing to do.

Him and Holtz are all we have. So, yeah... it's going to happen.

It's a lot more complex than that. I have no idea what happens. I could see everyone staying and getting a mulligan. I could see everything getting blown up (even possibly the GM Pace) and bring in an entire new staff to try to win inside of what's left of the defense's window.

I do know that it's hard to fire a guy one year removed from 12-4 and coach of the year for going 7-9 or 8-8. Same goes for our GM who won exec of the year.

Detroits down to their thrd string qb and our def i believe is gonna blitz blitz blitz.............

I am just totally amazed at as bad as this putrid season has been,our defense is 4th in pts and 4th in total ydg............I know weve played some piss-poor teams and our off never seemed to let our def of the field and we are still 4th...........?

No way do we let a 3rd stringer beat us...........

No Bears runningback has hit a 100 yds on Thanksgiving Day since Walter Payton....

Not sure how many games weve played on this day, but to me, thats absolutely mind numbing.....

Not sure how many games weve played on this day, but to me, thats absolutely mind numbing.....

And that kinda looks like it was back in 1981 when Payton rushed for 178 yds vs Dallas.......39 yrs agao.....

So does Montgomery do it today.....?
