The offense will struggle mightily, no doubt, but that defense will keep us in games. The dismissals on offense are going to hurt for sure.

You remind me of when I was like 12 years old. Back then football didn't come on tv very often, and you'd have to wait for the paper to see the football rankings.

But if you had a top25 team, there was a good chance you would get to watch a game here and there. So I'd watch the paper and I'd look for Alabama and they wouldn't be ranked, win after win to start the season. And I'd see the scores and I'd think - well this is some BS, they'll certainly be ranked next week.

And then we'd play an actual decent team and get spanked. A few times of that and I eventually got the picture.

I got a feeling something similar is about to happen to you.

Why would I be mad? The kid was a bench player, never saw the field......he's a non factor. Nobody cares if he's off the team.

It hurts depth I suppose but I don't think they'd have ever played him anyway. He got beat out by a greyshirt on the depth chart.

The team is not devoid of talent.
There is plenty of defensive talent, especially along the front with NFL talent.


The offensive side is inexperienced but still reasonably talented.
Charlie would simply rather play with good kids who have no experience than bad apples with marginally more experience.


He is not purging all-American irreplaceable players from a great team last year.
He is purging guys who never did anything who want entitlement after 8-5 seasons.
