Keith Law has the Rangers at #7.

7. Texas Rangers

A vastly improved system in the past year or two. The Rangers have gotten healthy, seen some draft guys develop, and have an impressive group of international free-agent signees on their way from either the Dominican Summer League or the Arizona Complex League who could vault this system into the top 3 in a year — especially since they will probably only graduate one guy from their top 10, Josh Jung. There’s even some pitching coming, which I imagine is music to Rangers fans’ ears, and the front office has patched together a big-league rotation that looks like it’s a short-term fix as they wait for those guys to arrive.
This is actually a pretty generous rank and potential future rank from KLAW

Seems like I read where someone predicted us to be 5 or 6 in a ranking that is coming out soon. Not sure which one, but it wasn't Law's.

We have a great system, but it is a little light at the very top. For now, anyway.

Are the Astros going to take a step back this year? Sick of those guys.

I think the balanced schedule will cause them to lose a few more games.

I watched "Facing Nolan" on Netflix last night. Pretty good. Standard bio/documentary, but I did learn a few things I never knew. Glad to see a sizeable Rangers presence in it as well.

From Jeff Wilson:

General manager Chris Young gave Rangers beat writers a heads-up up Saturday morning after he was bombarded with questions for about 30 minutes:

Don't expect any big news before spring training.

He wasn't kidding.

The Rangers have had a quiet week.

Other teams have been dealing with their arbitration cases, avoiding many of them with contract extensions. A few players have landed deals. The top remaining free agents remain free agents.

The Rangers' spring roster is at 70, including non-roster invitees — internal and those on minor-league deals. There is room to add a few more players who would have a better chance at making the Opening Day roster than some of the prospects in camp getting a taste of their futures.

There will be some movement today, however. The Rangers are holding the annual staging of the equipment truck leaving for spring training. They haven't been able to do that since 2020.

That and Fan Fest always stood as symbols that spring training was near.

It is, and the Rangers seem to be content to head to Arizona with the players already on the roster.

From Jim Bowden's power rankings:

17. Texas Rangers

The Rangers’ new brain trust, GM Chris Young and manager Bruce Bochy, wasted no time in rebuilding their rotation, landing Jacob deGrom (five years, $185 million), Nathan Eovaldi (two years, $34 million) and Andrew Heaney (two years, $25 million) and bringing back Martín Pérez, who accepted the one-year, $19.65 million qualifying offer. They also acquired veteran starter Jake Odorizzi in a trade with the Braves. The Rangers have a strong top of the lineup with Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, Nathaniel Lowe and Adolis García, but they could still use an upgrade in left field between now and Opening Day, and they’re actively pursuing one in free agency or via trade. If their rotation, led by deGrom, can stay healthy, the Rangers could finish as high as second place in the AL West, but it’s more likely they’ll be battling the Angels for third and fourth place.

What did he say last year about 1B?
He was really sure that we would trade for Matt Chapman. He mentioned it several times.

Poor Evan. He has been as wrong about LF this offseason as he was about 1B last offseason.
It seems like he favors the Miller Frasier platoon.
But for your benefit he could easily see Bubba take over at CF
