Is it wise to overpay just to outbid others. Surely they are not going over 20 million a year for him?
How much is he worth to the Rangers?
I guess supply and demand come into play but there are good pitchers next off-season too
Given DeGrom, Rodón and Senga's likely asking prices I would prefer to look at getting a Frontline starter via trade instead. If no viable trade look at the middle tier guys like Taillon or Manaea and maybe one can be the next Perez/Gibson/Lynn.

I agree, but I believe Ray Davis has a mandate to go out and spend on starting pitching this offseason. Hopefully, one more signing will suffice.

Duran was back in LF this evening. His bat is beginning to heat up. He had two hits in each of the last two games, including a HR tonight.

For those of you who think the Rangers might kick the tires/make a run at Bellinger because of his friendship w/Seager here is some stuff to ponder...

So do you think this means he may need another surgery to tighten up the shoulder or just needs time with some good hitting coaches???

This is a link from in the article above, it mentions Garcia's 2nd half dropoff...

All I could find is a Japanese post
I translated some of it

“””On the other hand, in the past nine days, Chiga (Senga?) has been in several cities such as Dallas, the home of the Rangers, New York of the Mets, Arizona, where the home of Diamond Bucks and the spring camp facilities of each team, as well as Seattle and San Francisco. Visit. I'm doing an unusual "visit trip".

After narrowing down the team you want to join the team, you may visit the team's hometown. However, it is rare for the executives of each baseball team to go to so many cities before the winter meeting (this season is December 4-7), meet with the executives of each baseball team, and check the cities including the living environment.”””

Very true. Not much leaks our other than a vague interest.
They always have nice surprises that weren’t rumored too much.

From Ken Rosenthal:

The Rangers were among the teams that recently hosted Japanese right-hander Kodai Senga for a visit. But Senga, a five-time Japan Series champion and 2020 Olympic gold medalist, wants to join a team with an immediate chance to win, and the Rangers might not qualify. The Mets and Padres are among the other clubs Senga visited, and several more are in the mix.

Pitching is not the Rangers’ only focus. The team also is showing interest in free-agent outfielder Mitch Haniger, who is drawing attention from the Giants and other clubs as well. Haniger, who missed more than three months last season with a sprained right ankle, batted .254 with eight homers and a .740 OPS after rejoining the Mariners on Aug. 6.
