No More "Bullpen Failure"
And then there is Kent, Bradford and Englert to dispose of.Then you need to trade the guys already in the pen. That makes for a lot of trades.

From Jeff Wilson:
Another deadline arrives this evening — the tender deadline. Basically, teams have the opportunity to not tender contracts to unsigned players. Those are the players eligible for salary arbitration.
The Rangers have five players who are arb-eligible: first baseman Nate Lowe, catcher Mitch Garver, right-hander Jonathan Hernandez and left-handers Taylor Hearn and Brett Martin.
After filling up their 40-man Tuesday by adding six prospects in order to protect them from the Rule 5 roster, the Rangers need roster spots and this is an opportunity to create one or two. It would seem that Martin is the best candidate, though the Rangers aren't in a place to start shedding pitchers. Garver could be if the Rangers want to go with Jonah Heim and Sam Huff at catcher.
Dennis Santana was a non-tender candidate before the Rangers traded him to the Braves.
There are others on the 40-man who are candidates to lose their spots once the Rangers start adding free agents. It's going to happen at some point.
I am wondering if we are looking to trade one of either Bubba or Leody. They should find a team in need of a C and LHP relief and maybe a particular prospect.
Trade Garver, Martin and prospect for a really good relief pitcher.. assuming a RHP lol

I guess they could decide to keep Garver and trade either Huff of Heim.
I don't have nearly the confidence in Leody that you do, but I hope a GM or two thinks like you do and wants to trade for him.I’m hoping they don’t trade Leody unless we get a really good return.
I think Leody shines next year and there after.
I like having Thompson as a back up CF to push Leody as well.
Thompson can pinch run and pinch hit when needed. Defense replacement in LF late in games when it makes sense..
Which have you wanted more, Bassitt or Melendez? LolDeGrom is wanting $42 million a year per reports, with his elbow/forearm & shoulder issues over the last 2 years i don’t think it would be smart.
Rodon wants $35 million a year… he finally had a full healthy season.. is the injury bug lurking around the corner on him?
I’m thinking the Rangers look hard at Bassitt or make a trade for a SP..
The Mets met with Senga yesterday. Let's hope he stops by Arlington very soon.
