Speaking of pitching. Toronto had a 8-1 lead. It’s now 9-9.
I am sour on overdoing it to the detriment of other areas. That is exactly how I felt about 11 months ago when we over did it with free agent middle infielders. But maybe he does not and does better. He has pretty good stuff when on. Injuries are my main disappointment
You seem pretty sour on our pitching pursuit
I really doubt we get 3 pitchers. If our young pitchers perform they will have plenty of opportunities
If they are going to pursue pitching via trades and free agency to the extent that we barely need to develop any pitchers of our own, then that means the draft strategy of the last two years was extremely flawed. That is especially true for this year's draft.
Hoping we don‘t hire some rando like Jeff banister again. I kind of prefer someone with experience. The last 3 managers were up and coming types. It’s telling that wash, banny, and woody aren’t major league managers anymore.Beasley had the first interview for manager.
We'll see how it works out. Placeholders were what I was hoping for, other than Perez. I get the idea CY has more than placeholders in mind though.Since they have fired pretty much most of the pitching coaches in the organization I would have to think the rational is get new/better coaches in place to help the young pitchers progress next year (looking towards 2024) and sign/trade for a couple of placeholders for the MLB team next year and maybe 2024...

And that job is perfect for him.Wash is one of the most respected coaches in the league
JD always went to the Dollar Store to shop for a manager.Wash is one of the most respected coaches in the league. Woody doesn't really count because he's recently fired.
His job is to put a winning team on the field and there hasn't been one since 2016 so I imagine he's feeling the pressure. The only thing that is important is the players he puts on the team need to produce. And the names of those players don't really matter whether it be Dunning, DeGrom, Otto or Kershaw. As long as he doesn't sign any outsiders to long term contracts (unless he can score a true ace) he still has the flexibility to replace them if the farm produces as they and some fans hope and pray for come 2024/5...I get the idea CY has more than placeholders in mind though.
So from what I’m seeing it looks like the Rangers want to resign Perez, add 2 more starters and potentially a bat?
What 2 starters and what bat do y’all think they get?
I would think one for the OF someone like Pederson or Benintendi, and maybe kick the tires on Matt Carpenter again for IF/DHwhat bat do y’all think they get?
That is the main concern for me.As long as he doesn't sign any outsiders to long term contracts
It is hard to know what they will do about acquiring a bat. Right after Davis made the statement about getting a bat several weeks ago, CY indicated that bat would be Jung.So from what I’m seeing it looks like the Rangers want to resign Perez, add 2 more starters and potentially a bat?

I was thinking Abreu, Bassit and a trade for a SP.
Garver and Heim can be at Catcher. Lowe DH. Abreu 1B
Trade Huff, Duran, Vanasco and Roby for a good SP.
The GM that pulls that trade off on the other end will be very well thought of one day. I think the trade would be more highly thought of than the Teixeira trade within three years.I was thinking Abreu, Bassit and a trade for a SP.
