So do wonder if multiple long relievers become a trend or if we can afford to pair pitchers together. Some pitch in tandem

I’m not a big fan of him. He hasn’t pitched well in 3 seasons. Although he didn’t pitch much in 2020. It bothers me that the Astros and Red Sox didn’t want to keep him.

His fastball velocity is still nice and high. Hasn’t missed a beat. Probably going to get the CY Young this year too. I think he’s still got some left in the tank.

Who will pitch more innings over the next 3 years, Verlander or DeGrom? More quality starts over the next 3 years?

JV can't have 3 years left in the tank and I don't want to spend $130m to find that out.

If you want one of the top pitchers you’re going to spend that or more. I don’t want them spending money on guy that had an era close to 5 last season.

If he’s still with Kate Upton by then he’ll have plenty in the tank.

Who will pitch more innings over the next 3 years, Verlander or DeGrom? More quality starts over the next 3 years?

Verlander has been a work horse DeGrom hasn't, would rather have Verlander he might end up like Ryan That being said I wouldn't expect 200 innings from him or push/allow him to get there, you want your horses fresh for the playoffs if at all possible... (I'd rather take fresh 90 win teams into the playoffs vs worn out 100 win teams)...

The key to getting him is figuring out what he wants. He's got 2 rings, he's got over $300M in the bank so does he want more chances at a ring, more moolah, he just wants to compete for as long as he can, would he be willing to be a father figure on a young rising/promising team (he used to be pretty grumpy before he met Kate). You figure that out and you'll know if they stand a shot at signing him...

You want good pitchers for short term till the younguns grow up he would fit the bill quite nicely. Sign him, someone like Rodon, resign Perez and a good OFer and watch what happens I think it could be fun in the dugout and stands again...

You might think I'm crazy but they might want to kick the tires on Trea Turner, he has played CF in the past and I'm guessing he could handle 3rd too. That would give you a lot of flexibility with the thought of putting Lowe at DH eventually if he doesn't improve defensively

Of course I wonder if Turner plays better defense than Seager. This is long shot IMO. But I am all bout having an elite CF offensively and defensively
