I’m still hoping they sign Rodon.

He's wanting 6-7 years don't think the Rangers want to do that right now, BTA I could be wrong. I have the sneaking suspicion that's why they haven't signed another SP or RP, they all want too many years and too much money. The market has been crazy/silly this year BTA they helped cause that with the DeGrom contract so it is what it is...

I can't wait to see what Otahni gets offered next year :L

Probably 12/$540 for Ohtani

As a reminder Seager got 10 years for 325 so his AAV is a bit higher than Corea

Would be nice to snag either Brantley or syndergaard

Brantley might sign a shorter contract he made $16M last year and he was used more as a DH...

Noah is younger and probably is looking for a longer contract, ERA was up around 4 last year and got paid $21M...

Levi Weaver has a column out with an exhaustive list of relievers the Rangers could consider. At the top of his list are Kimbrel, Ottavino, Rogers, and Chafin.

I wouldn't mind Ottavino and Chafin. Those two could really shore up the pen.

From Jeff Wilson:

Ezequiel Duran finished up his stint with Aguilas in the Dominican Winter League last week, and accomplished the primary objective of getting reps in the outfield.

Duran played 13 games over four weeks, homering in his Nov. 11 debut. He batted .255 with two home runs and a .431 slugging percentage over 51 at-bats.

But the career infielder needs to know how to play the outfield if he’s going to make the Rangers’ Opening Day roster. The Rangers are seeking help in left field, and Duran has been trying to solve center field.

“He had a good winter ball,” vice president Ross Fenstermaker said. “He was able to spend a good amount of time in the outfield, and we are satisfied with how it went.”

Why put him in CF to learn when they need help in LF? Unless they don’t think Taveras is going to make it or they feel if he learns CF that he should be able to play any OF position…

I don't think they see Taveras as the answer in CF.

Duran did see time in all 3 OF positions this winter if I remember correctly.
