I do wonder why Evan wasn't lamenting our lack of RH power a few months ago, back at the beginning of the free agent signing period. I don't recall one article saying the fallout from not signing a good RH power hitter would be severe. I mean, we didn't even have the indispensable Kris Davis on the team at the time. Why not write an article saying the Rangers must sign Nelson Cruz back last November?

The guy who wrote this for Fangraphs should be ashamed. IKF is not a catcher trying to play SS. He is a SS who tried to play catcher.

I think it all has to do with the massive innings jump all pitchers are about to experience... though mlb should've be cognizant and allowed for extra spots to roster a couple extra pitchers, but i guess we'll see how it plays out

I think that is definitely the cause of the piggyback plan. I am just not sure how that would affect who would be in the piggyback status. Maybe we will find out more when they announce who else is in those roles besides Lyles.
