Rangers in the hook for that now AAA. Complete long shot but I hope he can figure something out. Not thinking he has a high ceiling though

I imagine he will be up and down this year depending on injuries and the quality of the younger guys.

One thing this protracted lockout might help solve is the need for innings eaters. If they only play 130 to 140 games this year, all of a sudden a lot of the younger guys could stay in the rotation all year without the danger of them pitching too many innings

Do you ever watch the YouTube videos that Josh Smith and his wife do?

I will check it out. Have not heard the Wilson podcast on him just yet. Probably heard most of the others. Do a few podcasts via the Athletic
All this HOF stuff is pretty crazy IMO

This one where they chronicle the night he was traded here is a good one to watch.

News of expected international prospect signings have started to trickle in. There is nothing reported for the Rangers yet, it seems.

Levi Weaver's pick in this morning's The Athletic column for breakout player of the year for the Rangers, is Taylor Hearn.

A couple if days ago there was an article in The Athletic about Owen White. Here is an excerpt that says a lot about him.

“Kevin Torres was our fourth coach at Down East,” Cardoza explained. “(He) played 13 years of pro ball (Note: Torres spent 10 years in the Rangers organization, primarily as a catcher and first baseman) … and he said that Owen was the only pitcher — as a player, and now as a coach — that asked (Torres) to give him his time to home when there was a man on base and he was throwing from the stretch. That’s something that has always stood out to Torres and myself — he understands the game. That’s one thing I’ve said about him before. I think more than a pitcher, he’s a baseball player.”

From Jesse Sanchez:

Originally from Venezuela, Gutierrez can play center field and has a solid arm, but could eventually move to a corner outfield position because of his growing frame. At the plate, he has a compact and repeatable swing with a knack for barreling up the ball. He shows right-center-field power now and the potential to be a plus runner. He’s considered one of the best hitters in the class.

De Jesus shows good swing mechanics from both sides of the plate and emerging power, especially from the right side. He consistently makes hard contact and is improving his ability to recognize pitches. Overall, he has a good feel for the strike zone and a solid approach at the plate.

He also projects to be an above-average runner and is a potential base-stealer. He could steal 20 or more bases in the future if he continues to develop at a normal pace.

I would like to see a whole bunch of breakout seasons for the Rangers.
If Hearn is one of them then he needs to develop into a good SP

Hearn seems to be a press darling. Nice local guy who is social media savvy. What is he doing in the off-season to prepare him for a breakout season. We know Tavares is playing winter ball

Love to have a breakout year at CF, DH or LF. Or catcher

Not trying to be too snarky and certainly not Hearns fault but these writers find certain guys popular and they suddenly become the it guy.
Please fill me in with the progress Hearn made
To start you need a minimum of 3 pitches and a plus FB ( he has that it seems). Not sure about the rest
