No More "Bullpen Failure"
His ERA in Japan this year is on par with the numbers Yu used to put up in Japan. It is about a run better than what Colby put up in Japan. Here's our innings eater.

The last time there was a new CBA was 5 years ago. That was when major changes occurred in the area of losing draft picks if you signed a free agent. It was settled in the middle of free agency. They made the new rules not take effect until the following offseason. So, they didn't change the rules during the middle of the FA signing period. I wonder why some in the media are so sure the upcoming changes, if there are any, will split a free agency signing period into two parts with two different sets of rules?
I wouldn't expect a GM to be able to pull off a feat like that. What path should the Rangers take to try and field a relevant team with a hope of making the playoffs while also allowing their prospects time to play in the majors and allowing enough room on the 40 man?
What would you do if you were the GM and wanted to do all you could to put a winning team on the field next year while retaining the vast majority of your top prospects?

There is no use keeping your top prospects if you are going to sign so many FA that many of the prospects become blocked at the big league level.
2022 is still part of the rebuilding plan. It is when you begin to build back after the tear down. You get better in 2022, but the focus shouldn't be on making the postseason in 2022.
In 2023 you will begin to be very glad they were patient, if indeed they stay patient. In 2024 you will be thrilled that they were patient.Aw man, I’m getting impatient and not what I wanted to hear lol
Probably the wise answer, but darn..
you realize that if the MLB looked at contraction they would look at the teams that are at the bottom of the table and the last few years that's Baltimore, Texas, Pittsburgh and AeizonaI would favor contraction before a salary floor. Then, I am not a fan of revenue sharing either.

i'd move some the players blocking the movement: Palumbo. Burke, IKF, Calhoun, Guzman and Trevino and drop some of the guys on the 40 who aren't going to be regulars like Eli White, Apostel, Pozo. Tejeda and Terry. Release Colina, Cotton and Santana. add Jung, Winn, Duran, Vanasco, Latz, Walker, Thompson, Bahr, Bradford, Smith and Wendzel to the 40. Cody, J. Hernandez and Leclerc and possibly Snyder will open on the 60-day. so we can sign 3 FA's. my object in 2022 is more to see what the prospects bring us.What path should the Rangers take to try and field a relevant team with a hope of making the playoffs while also allowing their prospects time to play in the majors and allowing enough room on the 40 man?

Oakland and Tampa consistently compete so even with their attendance it would be difficult to justify chopping them. hell even Miami competes. so there is no team who could justifiably be chopped but if it came up they would have to chop at least 2.There’s no way Texas would be on the chopping block just because of their record.
They’re in one of the best markets with a brand new awesome stadium.
It would be Oakland, Tampa and the Florida Marlins being looked at.
They all routinely have the lowest attendance.
The Rangers on the other hand had the 5th best with a very poor team.
I believe our Rangers are safe

SP's: FA, Hearn, Dunning, Allard or Latz and Alexy/Otto splitting the #5 spot
BP: Bahr, Barlow, Bush, Evans, Martin, Sborz and either Allard or Latz
C: Heim & Huff
IF: Lowe, Solak, FA, Jung, Y. Hernandez & Ibanez
OF: Garcia, Peters, FA, Taveras & Walker

it's okay but too many FA's or trades for vets that will end up blocking playersThank you for the detailed response.
That’s awesome
Pretty much what I have in mind.
Except a little different
If I had it my way It would be
C-Melendez or trade for catcher or sign Gomez
1B-Lowe
2B-Ibanez
3B-Jung
SS-Story
LF-Schwarber
CF-Adolis
RF-Castellanos
DH-Huff
Bench
DJ Peters, Yonny, Solak and Leody
1. Gausman
2. Trade-IKF, JT,JH, YR, RH, OW, non top 4 etc
3. Dunning
4. Hearn
5. Alexy/Otto
Might be beneficial to replace Solak with a LH hitting utility player that could platoon with Huff at DH sometimes

and i see it more franchises moving then adding new teams.I agree!!
There will be no teams removed from the MLB
Too many good reasons not too.
If anything.. I’m ready for Portland( if they get their shit together) and Charlotte to get teams.
Austin could probably get one in about 10 years as well as Nashville if they continue to their growth.
and i see it more franchises moving then adding new teams.
i could see the A's moving maybe they go to Portland and maybe the Marlins franchise moves to Charlotte
Kyle Schwarber probably either accepts the mutual option with Boston and/or signs a new deal with themWith injuries and underperformance I think it would work itself out.
If you have a bunch of over performance and no injuries then it leads to trades at next years trade deadline in July.
