Cardinals fire Mike Shildt
Multiple reports indicate that the St. Louis Cardinals have fired manager Mike Shildt

Do you think he stays in RF longer than you think Gallo does? I would have never considered either of them anywhere near old enough to have to move, but you seemed to indicate earlier that you thought Gallo wasn't long for RF.
Like our beloved Willie Calhoun.I haven't thought about this lately, but Gallo has stayed relatively healthy for quite some time now. He used to have the reputation as being a bit injury prone. Those tendencies tend to come to an end and no one ever thinks about it. That is something to keep in mind when others are thought to being injury prone.
Or, Chris Seise, lol.Like our beloved Willie Calhoun.
That’s all I’m going to say lol
I feel for the guys lolOr, Chris Seise, lol.
sometimes you just have to move on from a player when it becomes apparent that injuries are going to be a yearly problem.I feel for the guys lol
I had injury after injury on my pitching elbow. I was way over used. I remember telling my coach “I don’t think I should pitch today, my elbow hurts” he told me it’s part of it lol.
I walked off the mound shortly after. Giant bruise on elbow. Like something internally was messed up. Rehabbed it and came back and same thing. Over and over again for 2 years.
McCullers had TMJ and now has forearm issues. They got him extended but now forearm issue. Great pitcher but likely out this seriessometimes you just have to move on from a player when it becomes apparent that injuries are going to be a yearly problem.
I sure hope we have room for each of those four when they are ready. Winn should be ready at some point in 2022 and the others at various points of the 2023 seasonBeen super impressed with him.
With Ricky Vanasco, Cole Winn and Leiter we are sitting pretty.
As bad as I want to win ASAP. It probably does make sense to go after just a few position players and only 1 SP.I sure hope we have room for each of those four when they are ready. Winn should be ready at some point in 2022 and the others at various points of the 2023 season
If we get the SS this year and then Crim, Foscue, and Smith all have great seasons we may not need the outfielders. As bad as I want to win ASAP. It probably does make sense to go after just a few position players and only 1 SP.
We have a nice little core coming up.
I think we definitely need to go out and get a few players to compliment them… but maybe not fill every hole.. still want 1 SP, legit C, 2 OF and 1 SS.
5 additions to a 26 man roster is about right. With our team and open payroll.
I just don’t want to fall into another..If we get the SS this year and then Crim, Foscue, and Smith all have great seasons we may not need the outfielders.
LF. Crim
RF. Garcia
CF. Smith
That is why I am willing to wait on most of the FA acquisitions until next offseason. If they don't perform well or if Garcia doesn't do well then we can go after an OF or two next year.
Of course, we still have Duran, Hauver, and Wendzel who could move to the OF as well. Then there is Zavala and Carter.
That is a really bad comparison. Those guys you listed were spread out over several years. Even the best of organizations are going to have that many with various stages of disappointment if you look back over that many years.“We have Nomar Mazara, Profar, Calhoun, Guzman, Gallo, IKF, Delino, Trevino, Odor to along with Jurado, Perez, Chi Chi and Luis Ortiz.”
The Angels took Brenden Davis from us last winter in the Rule 5 draft. He was the third piece we got for Darvish. He hit 30 HR this year. His OPS was .923 across three levels combined. His AAA OPS was 1.050.
