Spencer Howard is mentioned at the end of the article...
Yes there was obvious lack of faith of Phils to be a starter. Whether that was due to past injury or supposed early high workload I don’t know.

They evidently thought of him as a reliever and if so for an uograde in Crouse much to the chagrin of many. I am deferring judgement but if he becomes only a less than effective reliever then I will then agree this was a bust

Sentimentally I did like Crouse especially his quirkiness and Maverick personality

I will say this the Rays will trade guys even starters for a reliever such and Fairbanks who is and has been considered a winning piece.
As we get closer to a win now mentality. I would like to see more of this. That being said you would hope Howard is more than a bridge even if Crouse is a successful back end reliever

neither side is really interested in discussing anything so it could be February, March or April before they do decide to even talk about when to have their 1st meeting.

they're both waiting for the other side to blink

Shame for an industry that is really supposed to be about entertainment if you boil it all down to how revenue is generated

Long term, if either side got their way entirely, they would more than make up for a little lost revenue in the short term.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is what is his workout program like, is it the right program and if so is he dedicated to it enough to progress??? (Seems to me like it's wrong or he isn't dedicated or both)...

I always loved having guys with an "attitude" on my teams they always seemed like they raised it to another level come crunch time. I never liked the rah rah guys (too mouthy and easily distracted) I always liked the quiet, intense, slow burn type of attitude that says "you're toast now" without it being verbalized...

the problem with the CBA issue is that Manfred doesn't care about the sport or the players. he's a lapdog for the owners.

Ken Rosenthal was let go by MLB network today for his previous criticism of Manfred.
What a joke

Now I want to subscribe to The Athletic just because lol
I do subscribe but don’t read enough. Rosenthal and Drellich the ex Astros guy report on the big things in MLB. He has something out last June basically asking for more leadership from Manfred.

I will keep my eyes open for a response though.
Read and agree that most of MLB wounds are self inflicted. Real bad look
