I still hope they get Suzuki. The rest is window dressing or bridge unless a mysterious catcher or CF sign and trade

Still want to see how Huff develops. If he can’t catch his pathway has shrunk
I think as of now, I have hit the snooze button on Huff's prospect status. For now, all of the guys I listed above are above him right now, but I will wait until mid June or so and evaluate his 2022 season to see if he belongs back in the top 10 or even in the top 20.

The catcher position is the biggest question mark for me. I really don't have a question about being able to develop someone at any other position within the next 12-18 months. That is why I am willing to stand pat.

Nice to hear from you. Is there any Ranger nemesis for you now or potentially?
We raz you but you help make the board fun.

I would’ve felt guilty finding a player or coach to hate last year. Most of the guys were a combination of unknowns, journeymen, or players just doing whatever it took to keep the lights on at their houses.

I usually find someone to hate when we are actually trying to contend and I feel like that player or coach is a massive liability towards actually winning a World Series.

my all time ranger shit list :

1) Taylor Teagarden - we gave him way too many chances. nickname for him was K-garden.

2) Michael Kirkman- did he have nudes of Ron washington? How was he on the roster of so many good to decent rangers teams?

3) Mitch Moreland - After seeing this guy perform elsewhere. I’m willing to admit that the rangers assessment of this guy was not too far off. I just hated how we held spot for him during our best years of trying to compete while he simultaneously kept getting hurt and missing tons of game in each season. Seasons where we were trying to win it all.

4) roughed odor- signed way too early. Front office jumped the gun. I still suspect that the front office looked around after the Bautista incident and said “ this guy is a fan favorite! lets lock it down!”. Ever since he put pen to paper, odor played like a double AA ball player and only seemed to play well in parts of the season where we were long eliminated, the pressure was off, and teams were throwing pitchers you’d never see anywhere near a playoff mound.

5) Jeff Banister- This guy came out of nowhere to snag the rangers manager gig and it always left a sour taste in my mouth. I thought Bogar was the obvious hire at the time. Bogar managed so well that he actually pissed away our chances of drafting Alex Bregman. I thought the whole “ never ever quit“ thing was corny as hell and it was painfully obvious that Benny’s favorite player was odor so that just made me hate him even more.

If I had to pick a ranger on the current roster, I’d single out Willie Calhoun for his lack of professionalis, maturity, and constant injuries since he’s become a member of the rangers organization.

2) Michael Kirkman
He would definitely be on my top 5 negative-type Rangers list.

Be glad that you aren't old enough to have experienced Doug Radar as a manager here. He is my #1.

Duly noted. I will be on Willie C alert. I think he has more hitting upside than many on old roster but you have to show up

What do you want to see out of him and then, what do you expect to see out of him?

I hope to see good to great bat to ball skills, good situational hitting, legitimate power, average speed and defense. Also hope to see a full year of good health and consistent play

I expect to see maybe a little less of the above.
Not sure I am the best judge of his very up and down time due to injury. And if I can expect hat or not

Been reading HOF candidates, thinking I might offer my own selection if I had a vote later

i've looked for all of your above and every year for 5 years we don't see any of them as he seems to be injury prone and unable to generate any consistency. like him but maybe both the Rangers & Willie need a change of scenery

I have read that they have plans in place for Harris to play the OF this year so that both of them can have a future position here.

I get the feeling that in 4 or 5 years people are going to look at Foscue, Crim, Harris, Smith, and Duran and will be amazed that one team could have had all 5 of them playing for them.

And, that that same team could have had Hans Crouse in their rotation.

and we could have Jung, Huff, Seiya, Garcia, Zavala, Carter also. and pitchers Leiter, Winn, Vanasco, Otto, Roby, Bradford, White, Weems, Slaten & Ragans
