of the 2 Calhoun's, i would rather see Kole as our DH and unless we trade for a CF'er our inhouse choice would be Leody. sign Suzuki and go with him in left, Leody in center and Garcia in right

Ok I agree with Suzuki but not thinking Leody is ready Would love to be surprised

Leody seemed to have become a better hitter and lead-off man toward the end of the season and he ate up the Dominican league or whatever so maybe he's finally becoming what we need.

after 5 seasons i have grown tired of waiting for Willie to put together a whole season for this team.

To me, if we have to go with a few sub par players in 2022 while we wait on the cavalry from Frisco and Round Rock, I am fine with that. That is one of the reasons why the lack of a prototypical leadoff hitter doesn't bother me in the least.

If management doesn't sign more than a two year pitcher after the lockout it wouldn't bother me. To me, the decision about signing Suzuki should depend on what they plan on doing with our MIF prospects. If two of them are going to the OF, then we no longer need to sign an OF. If that is the case, then we should make do with what we have or sign an OF to a very short term deal.

yuck. that would be taking 2 steps forward with Seimen and Seager and then taking 3 or 4 steps back

If Jung starts Opening day then to me there is not enough room for Solak IKF and Ibanez and I and keeping Ibanez

Leody needs to play every day and my guess if he makes team it is as a 4th OF.
If we can’t play WCalhoun then we should trade him. He can be a good hitter but yes for various reasons he has not delivered so far

i agree. i ask about a trade of IKF to the Yankees earlier and there's also some talk about him and a package to Arizona for K. Marte. i see Yonny Hernandez and Ibanez being part of our bench along with Heim in 2022

well you forgot the #2 catcher for the bench so

we would have Garcia, Kole Calhoun and hopefully Suzuki plus possibly Taveras clogging up the outfield which means DH for one of them. that would probably mean the 2 Calhoun's will be battling for the DH.
and the 4 Bench spots would be Heim, Y Hernandez, Ibanez & a 4th outfielder

assume we are picking up Suzuki and i would assume he would be in Left, don't want to risk Garcia (injury) so him on Right and we either use Taveras in CF or trade for one

My first post is this discussion was what we could do if we did not pick up a free agent starting outfielder. If they do that, then that changes everything else I posted. I only said we could play Solak in LF if we didn't pick anyone else up. To me Garcia is in CF until we get a better option. Not saying that will happen, but I would do it that way.

On a related note, if someone has to go then it should be via trade and IKF has more trade value.

Long term, I think Solak, IKF, Yonny, White, Leody, and both Calhouns are gone. That is, unless one of them shows us more this year.
