My first post is this discussion was what we could do if we did not pick up a free agent starting outfielder. If they do that, then that changes everything else I posted. I only said we could play Solak in LF if we didn't pick anyone else up. To me Garcia is in CF until we get a better option. Not saying that will happen, but I would do it that way.

On a related note, if someone has to go then it should be via trade and IKF has more trade value.

Long term, I think Solak, IKF, Yonny, White, Leody, and both Calhouns are gone. That is, unless one of them shows us more this year.

If you're using OBP to help pick your leadoff guy then the person who was with the team all year that had the highest OBP was Nathaniel Lowe at .357, the only person higher was Gallo at .379...

If you're getting good production from both corners (Garcia and Suzuki) you can afford to throw Taveras out there and let him sink or swim...

go 5 years 65M for suzuki.

i think Kole will get plenty of time in the outfield but the majority of his playing time will be DH. he only played in 94 games with Arizona out of 202 games

And I don't think they brought him in to play everyday either after a knee and 2 hamstring issues including surgery that sidelined him for most of the year. That said I'm guessing he gets at least 350 ABs doing multiple things (more if Garcia stinks) even emergency 1B He's going to be a mentor to the younguns in the OF and possible trade deadline piece, especially if they sign Suzuki...

I would trade Spencer Howard for Joey Gallo. Then in July I would trade Gallo again.

If the new CBA does call for that, I wonder what that would do to the Rangers plans when it comes to spending money. They might be tempted to put some spending on hold for a year, and then grab whatever they still need next year, when supply relative to demand is higher.
