I have found that there are a lot of media folks and fans who believe in Howard, simply because the Rangers traded for him.

I will say this in Chris Halicke's defense. He was the first media member, and maybe the only one, who raised the possibility of the Rangers obtaining two of the top four shortstops.

It does make him look bad to put Howard in that spot, though.

That is because Callis and Mayo overrate guys up the middle. They are the ones who overrated the three high school shortstops prior to the last draft.

I really appreciate their work, but I have learned to take some of their projection and rankings with a grain of salt.
