It isn't about being enough for 2022. Of course it won't be enough. It is about getting some high quality pieces so they are in place when the bulk of the good prospects come up. You get a piece or two this offseason and another piece or two next offseason. You do that even though you will not be a .500 team in 2022. Keep the big picture in mind.
Thanks for the heads up. Did say within 2 years so not thinking we are planning on being competitive next year.

i hope to see some improvement next season maybe 10 to 15 wins but the important thing is get our young guys playing time and not be blocked by unnecessary low level FA fodder

Maybe I'm thinking of Lee or somebody else and got the times mixed :L

Didn't we get Hearn for Kela  looks like that might work out alright...
To me, Lee is the best mid-season trade for us that I can recall.

Otto pitched about 120 innings between minors and majors this year
Alexy about 90
I think they could approach 130-140 if they’re performing well.
Otto should be able to go 140 or a little more. Alexy about 115- 125 or so, I would think.

Winn is on an innings limit and may only get a cup of coffee. I sure hope we are not having to rely on Allard for 140. Burke we are not sure will be on club despite recent surprises.

I guess we just disagree. I think we pick up one SP and more of a rental
I think you are a little premature in giving up on Allard. Also, I said he could throw that many innings for us in 2022, that doesn't mean I expect him to have a good ERA in doing so. We just need him to hold a place and eat up innings.

Pretty much the same can be said of Burke.

I am just trying to show that we have a lot of pitchers to work with, and we might have another or two on minor league contracts as well.

I see no need of an innings eater.

I just want to build a championship caliber team. The amount of wins along the way is of no significance to me.

If we win 70 games each year between now and then, and then have a legitimate chance to go to the WS each of the next 4 to 6 years after that, that would be fabulous.

If we could get one of the big SS, Kyle Schwarber, Joc Pederson for CF vs RHP and one of the big FA SP and then trade for a C and another SP we would be set.

C-Trade for one and let Huff back up and DH
1B- Nate Lowe
2B-Ibanez
SS-Correa/Story/Seager
3B-Jung
LF-Schwarber
CF-Pederson vs RHP and Leody vs LHP
RF-Garcia
DH-Huff
Bench
Leody, DJ Peters, Solak, Yonny

Midway through the year we will know if Ibanez and Garcia are for real. Same with Leody.
If not promote Bubba Thompson, Josh Smith, Blain Crim. If all 6 are playing well, well that’s a good problem to have. If Lowe never progresses and Huff is doing well move him to 1B and promote Dustin Smith and put him at DH.

These moves would free up IKF, Calhoun, Guzman, Heim, Trevino potentially Yonny, Solak, Peters, Leody and a few “depth” prospects who wouldn’t be needed if the mlb team is full of long term achievers/solutions. That’s who you use to acquire the Catcher and the Pitcher. Maybe Alejandro Kirk of the Blue Jays if MJ Melendez or Joey Bart just aren’t attainable.
Marlins need a bat and have plenty of pitching. Would we offer up Adolis + more for a legit pitcher? Then sign another decent RF (Canha or Conforto)for 2 years until Zavala or Evan Carter is ready?

1. Stroman/Gausman/Ray/
2. 3.50 ERA pitcher acquired by trade
3. Dunning
4. Hearn
5. Alexy
Have Otto, Winn plus other in reserve in the minors ready to step in for the injured or under performers.

We can make the team very good while also keeping our top prospects here while also having available playing time for them.

Lol. What a joke. Jace Tingler and then Wash. That is such a lazy way to hire people, to only consider those you are already familiar with.

And the reason why you don't give up on prospects too soon, it takes some longer than others to "get it"...

This day in history- 10 years ago.

On my Facebook memories I noticed I made these two comments that day.

"Ron Washington is the worst in-game manager that I have seen in a long time."

"Nelson Cruz refused to let Ron Washington lose this game."

Here I see video of JD explaining why we may get dome good players.
Stresses now that the ownership is committed to paying fair market value

Seems to me he looks like he had to go toe to toe with ownership and perhaps their reputation was only to get players st a discount. This is ou there for agents to see and assess

Do think owners have made some money at the gate and now in the oil fields
If Rangers don't land anyone and make noticeable improvement in 2 years, I am thinking JD is done.
He looks a tad beat down

Another part of the glut of MIF that we have had since him, Profar, Odor and others were in our system.

The thought used to be that we would be so rich in highly valued prospects that we could trade some and get whatever we needed. That involved equating good MIF as being highly valued players. It didn't work out that way at all.

if we win 75 games in 2022 and then 85-87 in 2023 and then in 2024 they increase the win total to the point that the Rangers find themselves vying for the WS win and then for the next 3 to 6 years
