Trade options should not start with players from a 100+ loss team, that wasn't much of a producer in the first place going to another team for a player of value.. Lets's be realistic when we think about trading what we got. I mean what do we really have on the roster that's gonna interest teams that want to upgrade and not tank???

When they’ve had serious discussion I might buy it but the other day they were looking at Andrelton Simmons. I believe the Yankees would want more offense than either of them would provide.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see them sign Trevor Story

I think they are wanting a decent stop gap until their top prospect is ready in about 2 years.

it makes sense because Gallo can get on base via walks and let the guys behind him drive him in.

He would be better overall than the last few the team has had ...

never know without trying and it would only be the opening. they have one player listed in the depth charts for 2nd, SS and 3rd so IKF and Solak would probably be opening day starters as would Allard

Doesn't mean their good and worthy of a player of Contreras' quality, sure IKF would be tempting as a price piece but definitely not a headliner

They'll want young AND quality players, which most of what you listed lacked
