In Texas his OPS was. 1.203
In Seattle his OPS was 1.250
In Houston his OPS was 1.000

That takes care of over 100 games between the three stadiums.
So you're saying his performance over 7 games in 3 stadiums in 2021 will stay the same over the course of 100 games per year if the Rangers sign him...

So you don't think it could have been mediocre pitching (which you know damn well he seen in Texas) he seen that created those stats???

Lol, I just used the limited stats you linked to.

I can just imagine the amount of complaining we would be seeing on the site if the team had signed Rendon

Where's crawler when you need him :tsk:

I have never combined about something I wanted them to do when it turns out bad. No one really has a right to do that unless it is due to something that the Rangers should have known about when the fans would have had no way of knowing.

I never once complained about the Andrus contract because I was glad when they signed him. It was the opposite when they signed Odor.

Also, I think Rendon will have much more success in the future.

If they would've signed Rendon who would his contract have kept us from signing? Nobody to this point.

Read where Phillies are looking for a SS.
Maybe we could find a way to give them another fine young pitcher if they would take a SS off of our hands.

I'm just not a fan of high dollar long term contracts cause they seldom turn out the way you want them to. You get 1-2 good years then it's nothing more than a really expensive boat anchor after that, and those are hard on the clubhouse atmosphere and team success...

Well, we cannot spend our way to a championship. We cannot develop our way to a championship. We cannot trade our way to a championship.

We could try to do some of all three though, and that might work. Get 2 or 3 high quality free agents. Make a trade or two at the right time. Develop the rest.

Just change the year and his whole career is there...
Yep, and his numbers are still great in our ballpark, in Houston, and at the Angels. He has done good in Seattle.

He hasn't really struggled in any AL park where he has gotten more than 25 PA.

I’m with ya on this one. Mostly. I would like 2 stud pitchers so we can use our depth as depth and let them refine at AA. Mostly Otto and Latz.
Calling one of the 2 up in case of an injury.

I would also like another catcher and I still want Huff as DH/1B/ Back up catcher.

If we signed Correa($30), Stroman $25 and Schwarber $20 it would be about $75 million I would think
After arbitration payroll would be right at $125 million.

I would acquire the other SP and C via trade to sure up those two things and alleviate some of our depth that’s rule 5 or about to be rule 5 eligible
i just can't support culling our minor league system. i would rather bring a couple of non-roster SP's and maybe a catcher that get assigned into the minor league system

You mentioned that he was still at SS like it was a surprise that he was still playing SS and like you thought he might have to change positions. That is what I was responding to.
No let’s keep him at SS.

wonder what we could get from them for IKF?

I think they will probably promote Bryson Stott soon. He’s their “Josh Jung” only at SS. Their 2019 1st round pick #14 overall. Put up great #s at AA this year.

I don’t necessarily want to cull the system of good prospects either. I wouldn’t mind letting go of a couple of guys from our major league roster and then a couple of prospects the front office may deem replaceable or not a good fit or overly deep and then also take on a bad contract.

Something like

Royals-MJ Melendez C and Carlos Santana($10) or M.Minor($10) For Salary relief.

For

Glen Otto, Curtis Terry and Yonny Hernandez

Then

Whitesox- Michael Kopech or Dylan Cease & Dallas Keuchel (salary relief)

For

IKF, Willie Calhoun and one of Duran/Hauver/Wendzel/Walker/Apostel(all in our top 21)

MLB Pipeline, Newberg, and BA all have both Smith and Duran ahead of him and I agree.
All 3 of them have their warts and all are profiled to end up somewhere else because of range or glove work or arm strength :noidea:

I think a lot of the talk about Acuna is from what his older brother says about his little brother being better than him at those younger ages...
