7 I thought was a benchmark. 10? They would pay that at 7 or 8. I have a bias against Corea thoughaccording to some sites Correra will get 10 years $200-225M, do you see the Rangers doing that
This is the stat I look at and then do my own rank considering defense![]()

we have prospects at virtually every position that i would rather see more than see us spend 100's of Millions and seriously deplete our minor league system again. sign a couple maybe 3 FA's (SP. SS & OF) and bring up Jung, Huff & 1 OF/DH(Walker or someone).
I agree to an extent but when looking at the over all picture it makes sense to add some big players to the team.
We can’t be having a $25 million payroll in one of the largest markets with a new billion dollar stadium with a 100 loss season the year before.
We don’t want to add 10 FA and block the spots for our prospects.
Seems like adding 3-5 big guys is the correct answer.
And if he keeps progressing like this he will be the Rangers SS in 2 years or so...
Still at SS
Yes. I would not write him off as surplus just yetAnd if he keeps progressing like this he will be the Rangers SS in 2 years or so...
Yes, just like Gallo stayed at 3B, Acuna will remain at SS until they absolutely have to move him.
Still at SS
In Texas his OPS was. 1.203![]()

Just imagine what kind of starting pitche, him and another prospect or two could fetch 21 months from now.Yes. I would not write him off as surplus just yet
Read where Phillies are looking for a SS.
My philosophy has been you want defensive strength up the middle with only 2 or less players defense only. In this game I think it is easier to have the elite hitters with the good defense at CF and 2B. Catcher and SS could then be elite defense but average bat
where does it say we have to be in the $125M payroll. signing the right 3 would put us around 90-100M platform
we have 5 pitchers that we should be starting in Hearn, Dunning, Alexy, Otto and either Allard or Latz but i would still sign a stud FA. going with the FA, Hearn, Dunning, Allard or Latz and using the Opener strategy Alexy/Otto/ depth wise at reliever i see 8 or 9 that we should go with.
Catcher: we should go with Huff and Heim
1B: we should go with Lowe
2B: to open the season we should go with Solak
SS: FA
3B: Jung
LF: FA
CF: Peters
RF: Garcia
DH: i would go with Walker although there are 1 or 2 others not named Calhoun
Bench: Hernandez, Ibanez and Taveras
Not sure I understand you, do you think he profiles elsewhere? I know Gallo and his bulk had a bearing on him sticking at 3B from what I rememberYes, just like Gallo stayed at 3B, Acuna will remain at SS until they absolutely have to move him.
Every time I saw Story here he was the best hitter in the field minus BeltreIn Texas his OPS was. 1.203
In Seattle his OPS was 1.250
In Houston his OPS was 1.000
That takes care of over 100 games between the three stadiums.
That may be if talking about Acuna.Just imagine what kind of starting pitche, him and another prospect or two could fetch 21 months from now.
You mentioned that he was still at SS like it was a surprise that he was still playing SS and like you thought he might have to change positions. That is what I was responding to.Not sure I understand you, do you think he profiles elsewhere? I know Gallo and his bulk had a bearing on him sticking at 3B from what I remember
MLB Pipeline, Newberg, and BA all have both Smith and Duran ahead of him and I agree. That may be if talking about Acuna.
Don’t you think he is out top rated SS in the system now?
He has hit very well in his career in the Angels stadium also. I think he will do great playing for us.Every time I saw Story here he was the best hitter in the field minus Beltre
