Solak IKF Peters and the catchers
I never got the idea that he values those guys that highly myself. I must have missed him saying that.

Acuna and Acosta will most likely be trade bait within a couple more years. The competition at 2B is just too much with a FA SS in the fold. Even without the FA SS it would be tough for them.
We need a SS in waiting even if we sign a SS and especially if we sign Storey. If we want to extend the rebuild would love to sign CJ Abrams. He’s blocked

I listened to the last podcast and that was my impression especially after he talks about potential signings. Maybe my own bias who knows

That sounds like someone who would need to be drafted this year or next. Story would have the position locked up for awhile. Or maybe someone signed in the next round of international signings.

Why would we trade a ton of prospects for a SS?

Abrams would be blocked here if we signed Story. He will be ready for the big leagues by late next year probably.

i haven't seen him play 2B so i don't know if he is or isn't. probably is but i do know he will bring something in trade and that Solak would be an adequate 2Bman until a better prospect is ready. my point is IKF has trade value right now but hang on to him and next trade deadline or off-season other teams will know he isn't as valuable to us so the return goes down
Here is something for you to chew on if you want to see how he stacked up against other SS this year at the plate, this should give you an idea as to what GMs might think he would be worth in a trade...

Then he also excelled at Frisco when he was promoted.

That’s a good point.
We do need to look at C/SP/CF/SS
The problem is, there is only one pitcher who is thought to be a high first round pick right now. There are no catchers who are thought to go that high. If the one pitcher, Lesko, is available and is the best pick then that is fine. We pretty much need to draft the best guy at 3.

If we can draft well in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds this time, we should be able to pick up some more valuable pieces. Those rounds could definitely be improved compared to this last draft.

His value would be to the cheap teams who are currently weaker at SS.

Yeah, maybe the Athletics or Marlins for some pitching. Athletics like young controllable players and have a knack for making them better. Maybe some of our young depth with IKF for a SP

Brooks Lee, Lesko, Elijah Green, Kevin Parada, Brock Jones, Reggie Crawford, Chase Delauter, Daniel Susac could all be top options.

It truly is too early. Going to have to wait until summer

Looking forward to our 2nd and 3rd round pick as well. Should end up with 3 of the top 100 players.

Lol. Unless we pick a guy in the third round who shouldn't be picked until about 60 or 70 picks later.

Green and Jones are two OF who would be a great fit. The more I read about Termarr Johnson at SS the more I like him too.

DeLauter is one guy who could climb much closer to the top.
