I think he could make a great CF.
I’m sure he will play SS well but if we sign a 6-10 year guy for SS I think acuna might move positions if he’s ready in 2 years.
Acuna and Acosta will most likely be trade bait within a couple more years. The competition at 2B is just too much with a FA SS in the fold. Even without the FA SS it would be tough for them.

I think he has Solak penciled in at 2B next year instead of IKF, but I am not sure that he thinks Solak is the longterm answer.
Why would he do that? No way Solak equals a gold glove and BA like IKF.

I think it is because he feels better about Solak's bat, and it is only probably a short term solution anyway. Whoever is at 2B in 2022 is most likely just temporarily there until Foscue or Smith is ready.

solak isn't the long-term choice by anyone for 2b but he is an adequate choice for 2022. sooner or later we are going to have to trade IKF, so why not now?

and there's no way that we know IKF would be a gold glove either
He had one at 3rd so why would you question it at 2b and he could esily be extended when time comes.

I wouldn't mind extending him if he wants to sign fairly cheap to be a bench player.

If he is cheap utility player then let’s keep IKF and play next year at 2B. We have a bunch of mediocre bats competing for ABs next year. Time to decide who to cut bait on
Re Jeff W. He just thinks some of the guys have more potential than me. Plus all things equal keep the better glove. Rays have a real good guy at 2B They weren’t afraid to let him go. If we can move him, please do

having won one at one position is no guarantee they will win another at another position. and i think it would benefit both the team and him if we traded him when his value is high

We could trade IKF and then revisit the possibility of him being a bench player in 2 years.

Get real. You know what I mean about the Gold Glove. He is better than Slovak at defense and offense. Why trade a guy that leads team in BA and Hits. If Foscue is better than fine. But why gamble a guy like IKF when he is exactly an example of the kind of players we need more of. (BA Hits,Stolen bases) What much more can you ask of him? He might agree to be extended.

I would think Jace Jung is facing the better pitching. Seems like Texas tech plays better players than Cal Poly.

Maybe Jace is the better pick up

i haven't seen him play 2B so i don't know if he is or isn't. probably is but i do know he will bring something in trade and that Solak would be an adequate 2Bman until a better prospect is ready. my point is IKF has trade value right now but hang on to him and next trade deadline or off-season other teams will know he isn't as valuable to us so the return goes down

which is what i'm saying when i talk about trading IKF now. if we sign a FA SS then what do we do? move IKF to 2B and then what do we do when Foscue or Smith is ready to move up? what position do we move IKF to then?

he has value that translates into prospects that we should take advantage of now
