You know some of those teams who are doing salary dumps of good players they can't afford anymore might be a good place to look to make a deal you don't have to give up too much to get. The Mets got Lindor for chump change last year and you've got to think there will be more of those types of trades this year with the Reds, A's and a few more wanting to get rid of salary...

Actually agree in principle if pure salary dump. Hate to give up prospects unless length makes sense

I think most of those Oakland guys who have been mentioned are only under control for either one more year or two more years.

We could hardly expect more with Eastern sports writers but we know what he did and they can't change facts.

That is a tough one. I was really hoping we would at least hear some rumors by now. They really need to get something done prior to the lockout because who knows what will happen if the bulk of free agency is being decided within a few days in February.

He got the Sporting News award, I guess that will have to do.

I wonder if he had continued hitting home runs like he first started if that would have done it. Who knows? Hard to lmagine what much more he could have done from the defensive side.

Maybe Yanks or Marlins not a great target for him
Reading this clip is why I have not wanted Correa. He could not be what our young team needs as a leader.

can't say I'm surprised. with such a large FA group featuring several marquee names, whoever signs first sets the tone for the rest of the market. it's going to require a team to step up and make a splash.

my gut tells me everyone else is waiting for Correa to sign. Seager will want to wait because whoever doesn't get CC (between NYY and DET I'm guessing) will then turn to him, and the *'s probably are in the mix for him as well, among others. I don't see the Rangers willing to go that high, and I'm OK with that. At that point everyone that was already out on those two turns to Story and Semien. Semien doesn't want to come here so that leaves us with Story.

Rangers have two options that I can see: make Story an impressive offer (and overpay) immediately after Correa signs, or risk it and wait until Seager finds a home and battle it out with several suitors. Just my 2 cents.

Eh. He’ll sign with the Tigers.

Of all the short stops on the Free agent market I think Javier Baez will have the highest WAR total over the next 5 years.
Considering he will sign for less than Correa and Seager he might be the best deal/bargain.
