Not sure if any of you have had a chance to catch a game at Frisco, but it's a fantastic facility.
I have been twice, but not in several years. I might look into going this year if they let us.

When Crouse is pitching, I would love to go.

Still think that Gallo will be wearing Yankee pinstripes this coming season

Of course with these two add ons and any others in the minors it is good to be excited and hope that they become incredible players for the Rangers we all know what happens most of the time. Nothing like when Juan Gone, Pudge and Greer were all coming up. You just knew those guys had it in them.

I have a good feeling about Jung, Huff, Foscue and Wendzel. I’m torn on Taveras..
IKF will be a great defender with an ok bat, if Taveras can be the same I guess it’s not bad as long as the other 7 hitters are decent.
I really hope the Rangers trade Gallo, Leclerc, Trevino, Hernandez, demarcus Evans etc..
Build a couple of packages and try to get some SP prospects with high upside.
Michael Conforto and Joc Pederson (and types) should be decently easy to pick up next off-season. If Lowe works out at 1B awesome.. if not may have to swing a trade for a 1B as well..or maybe Solak works out at 2B and Wendzel could play 1B... who knows

2023 line up of
C-Huff/Heim/D Garcia
1B-Lowe/Wendzel
2B- Foscue/Wendzel/Solak
3B-Jung
SS-IKF
LF-Conforto/Wendzel
CF-Taveras
RF-Pederson/Wendzel

might work out lol

I would hope that when it is all said and done, our best prospect will be the guy we draft with the second overall pick in July.

My 2 cents is: between the batting average and being a Boras client, plus the Rangers being in rebuild mode, my inclination is to trade Joey.

Joey's a good dude and I'd love for him to be the centerpiece of the Rangers when they get back to being a force in the AL. But if he hit for .225 that would be a marked improvement for him, and not only is that a 6'5" if, but I would prefer the Rangers not pay Boras money to a .225 hitter, let alone one who struggles to even get hit .200.

I realize he brings other things to the table, but are those worth the contract he's going to get?
Yeah, my biggest thing is the Boras connection. Gallo has athletic ability but I am with you in that if we are going to be taken to the cleaners get a proven commodity out of it through FA and get some prospects in return.

Jamey Newberg finished up his list of the Top 72 Rangers Prospects today with the top 12.

1. Josh Jung--3B
2. Sam Huff--C
3. Cole Winn--RHP
4. Dane Dunning--RHP
5. Chris Seise--SS
6. Ricky Vanasco--RHP
7. Justin Foscue--2B
8. Luisangel Acuna--SS-2B
9. Evan Carter--OF
10. Sherten Apostel--3B-1B
11. Maximo Acosta--SS
12. Ronny Henriquez--RHP

He doesn't consider Kyle Cody and Leody Taveras prospects any longer.

I find it interesting that he has Vanasco and Seise that high, even if I do agree with him. I am surprised that Acosta falls below some of those other middle infielders. Jamey mentions that MLM.com writer, Jim Callis, has written that he feels Acosta will be one of the top 3 prospects in all of baseball by the end of 2023.

Jamey also mentioned that the Rangers system ranking would most likely improve the next time rankings come out. For instance, MLB.com had Heim as the A's 9th best prospect, but he is only the Rangers 26st best prospect. They had the A's system 7 spots higher than the Rangers the last time their organizational rankings came out.

Cody and Taveras because they're MLB-ready, I'm assuming

Yeah, he is not really consistent with that though. Many think Dunning is all but assured of a place in the rotation to start the season and that Cody is probably going to AA. Yet, he has Dunning on the list, but not Cody.

I wonder if Khris Davis being added to the team will start a ripple effect that puts Taveras back in the minors to start the season.

DH. Davis
LF. Calhoun
CF Dahl

For those of you ready to trade Gallo, is there any level he can achieve before the trade deadline in a few months, that would change your mind?

I kind of thought he would have been traded during this offseason, but that is not looking likely now.

I am just wondering if everyone's mind is made up, no matter how he plays this year. I have gone back and forth on this topic in my own mind. I was ready to say it would be good to trade him if we got a really good package back for him. Now that he has a chance to show something to us for a few months, I might be open to changing my mind.

Trade him if we can. Odor would be hot and then go cold. We don't that kind of play and no reason to take a chance with Gallo IMO.

Hmmm Think Huff might eventually go out to 1B

C- Trevino/Heim/Garcia
1B- Huff?
2B- Foscue
3B- Jung
SS- IKF/Siese?
LF- Solak?
CF- Tavares
RF- ???
DH- ???

I'm not really too concerned about filling out COF spots once some of the other, harder to fill spots start to fill out

I think the Rangers are better off trading him. I've seen enough of Gallo to figure we know what we have with him. If he goes out there and lights it up this year, I'd wonder if it was him "figuring it out" or just a random, solitary outburst.

I guess my point is, Joey's been on the Rangers for 6 seasons now. I have no idea if he's going to stay the same, regress, or improve, and I don't want to pay a gigantic contract to find that out.

He has the arm and as big as he is the speed and agility. I mean the guy covers ground like nobodies business. I believe he can be a 45-50 HR player on a consistent basis if he stayed healthy but my biggest concern is Boras and what it would cost us to keep him here.
