He has the arm and as big as he is the speed and agility. I mean the guy covers ground like nobodies business. I believe he can be a 45-50 HR player on a consistent basis if he stayed healthy but my biggest concern is Boras and what it would cost us to keep him here.

Which is why he would be perfect for the Yankees

That would be a great trade for us. The Mets would be fools to do it. That guy who wrote that article has said some crazy things before, though. That is more or less his personal blog.

true but they are now saying the Mets could be getting Kris Bryant from Cubs which makes Davis expendable and he would fill a need with us and he plays 3B, 1B and LF

They have a lot of teams to shop him to. If they trade him, they are going to be offered a lot more than two relievers and a lower prospect. That is the kind of return you get for a rent-a-player at the deadline. With so much control left they are going to get a much better return.

The 2018 LeClerc would get you a good return. The trouble is, he was only that for that one year.

The good thing about JD Davis is that he is under control for 4 more years. That increases his price tag to substantially more than that article suggested.

I believe that makes Newberg 3 for 3. He had suggested Dahl, Alihara, and either Hilt or Lamb I believe.
