would you do this trade?

Couldn’t read the whole article but I would imagine it would be a 3 team trade with the Cubs and the Mets getting Bryant.
I could see the Rangers taking on Familias contract and parting with Leclerc and 2 prospects like Curtis Terry and Miguel Aparicio
Could then look at a rebound season from Familia and flip him and cash for a prospect at this years dead line

even signing Holt to a minor league deal, a 3-team trade with mets getting Bryant and Leclere, the Rangers get Familias and Davis and Cubs get 3 prospects

Glad to see Crouse getting the ST invite. He is one of a handful of players who could make the future of this team look a lot brighter if he does well this year. Crouse, Winn, Henriquez, Seise, Carter, Acuna, and Acosta are in that category.

If he does well, we may even get a prospect or two at the deadline for him.

Maybe Odor, Leclerc $7 mil and a couple of prospects for the 2 pitchers and JD Davis.
I like JD Davis. About to enter his prime. Huge OBP guy. Like he would lead the team for sure. Good OPS+. 4 years of team control. Could play 3B this year then move to 1B, LF, DH or wherever he’s needed really..

I would love the trade.
Makes sense for the Mets too.. they need payroll space and prospects to get Bryant..
The Rangers are still a large market team with money that can afford a semi avg payroll..
Why not use that money to your advantage

it would put payroll at about $101 million.. but with the money going to Oakland and then the theoretical money going to the Mets it would be like $115 mil..
Not too high for the Rangers I believe.
