Of course I think the owners wanted to look like they would compete to sell season tickets for last year then along cane the virus and the well played plans were scrapped. This is the full blown rebuild. Wonder if we could dump LeClerc

This really points out a difference in philosophies between two rebuilding teams. The long, long term prospect for the good young reliever who is already ready to produce. I am not saying the Rangers are wrong here at all, but it is very intriguing.

he had two years of control left and value at its peak. But Rangers never really have done a legit rebuild in the last 10 years
Maybe Mariners will flip him and this is just a value move

this is what I’ve been saying for 5 years now. How can you ever expect to be good if you don’t make players earn their playing time?

From MLB Pipeline, which has Corniell ranked as our 28th best prospect after they had had him ranked 4 spots higher with the Mariners.


If it all clicks for the young right-hander, Corniell will have three usable pitches at his disposal, and he already has more of a feel for pitching than many arms his age. His fastball can touch the mid-90s with good, late life to it. He has some feel to spin a breaking ball, a power curve that some could see morphing into a slider in the future. He throws a solid changeup, which might be better than the breaking ball currently. He throws all three pitches for strikes, filling up the zone in a way that belies his years.
The 6-foot-3 barrel-chested hurler has worked to firm up his frame, attending the Mariners’ High Performance Camp in the Dominican since he signed. That should help his stuff tick upwards. He hasn’t been stretched out yet as a starter, pitching in shorter relief stints, but look for him to get a chance to develop into a rotation piece as he begins his pro career in 2020.

Author from Chicago. My take is if we want to condemn actions from others in the very distant past, 95% of people on this planet should get the shame too. Might be a good idea to try to live honestly and right current injustices with an eye towards your own shortcomings. Children are the only one innocent.
Sidenote the Dallas based politician referenced in 2nd article does not hold much to me as I have had personal business dealings in my former paralegal profession.
