I like the fact that we have 5 starters instead of what we had in 2019 which was 2 good starters in Minor and Lynn and 3 holes. your whole plan seems to centered on "what can we get" not on having a decent team on the field. I know your whole mentality is "wait until 2021 or 2002 etc" some of us want to see the team do some competing now and 2020 and 2021 and so-on and not wait until your window opens to start it. we want the same thing in the end we just don't like your path

I will always exchange present "mediocre or slightly above that" for "slightly below mediocre" now and "better" in the future. It is akin to putting aside money into savings now, even though it gives you less to spend now, so you can enjoy the money more in the future.

I think we all need to look at putting our best foot forward for 2020 and not down the road because based on what I am seeing that is what ownership is doing. A left side of Arenado and Andrus is not too shabby and 5 guys that we hope can go out every 5th day and compete. There is still work to do so we shall see what they end up with.

consider the return they would want, I'm not sure I'd even listen to what they want. Not blocking our young 3B guys for the next 6-7 years is why I am ok with missing on Rendon. My issue with the Rendon thing is that JD showed he's an idiot and can't read a market.

He does seem to struggle at understanding how to sign a top free agent.

That is a very fair and honest evaluation and it points out the root cause of many differences that we have on this board.

Between that difference and the difference with how much we trust upper management, that probably covers 98% of our disagreements.

That is fine if you and others want to do that.

For myself, I want a championship in a very bad way. I don't care what our record is while we build that team.

I know upper management disagrees and that is why I want to see them gone. I am not getting any younger and I am not guaranteed anything so who knows when my time will be up. I have seen enough decent to good baseball in my lifetime. I have seen way too little great baseball and no championship baseball.

It includes drafting and developing players extremely well. It includes shrewdly trading players with value who will not be here when our window is open.

well you seem to. trade Minor, trade Lynn, hell trade any one who has value seems to be your mantra and who do you put out there in their place? why not trade Elvis and Gallo too?
