It is looking more and more like this team could lose 100 games next year. Maybe the increase in the quality of the first round draft pick in 2020 will help the trade to look a little better. lol

This is one trade that has very little logic to it at all.:L

Guess I'm the outlier here, because I'm actually surprised we got as much back as we did.

This board really turned into a hardcore F**k JD and the Front Office symposium. Kinda confusing, but I guess that's where it is.

Yes, but is that because you never expected to get anything at all from Profar since his last surgery? How did you put it? "He's done." Were those your words? I remember it was something similar to those words.

Have not mentioned JD but I do not like this trade and I told him so. Well I thought about it anyway.

I believe I said that in between the two years he missed from injury. Right around the time you feel we should have torn the team down and started rebuilding.

Texas receives, among other assets, a talented arm in Burke in return. A 2014 third-round pick, Burke went 9-6 with a 3.08 ERA in 25 appearances (22 starts) between High-A and Double-A this past season, going an impressive 6-1 with a 1.95 ERA in nine starts at Double-A. The southpaw struck out 158 batters in 137.1 innings.

Baseball America's JJ Cooper noted that Burke would be a top-10 prospect in most organizations, while one scout told Passan that Burke is a "very underrated arm." Per Passan, the 22-year-old Burke could debut in the majors in 2020, if not sooner.

Thank you Profar for your efforts in helping the Rangers. You are certainly worth more than we got for you.

From SB Nation:
Some info on the prospects. Eli White is a 24 year old infielder who was an 11th round pick out of Clemson by the A’s in 2016. He slashed .306/.388/.450 for Midland last year while playing second base, shortstop and third base. He was #17 on the MLB Pipeline list for the A’s, though that list hasn’t been re-ordered after 2018. Baseball America had White at #8 on their list, calling him “the best pure hitter” in the A’s system, though they say he can’t stick at shortstop.

Brock Burke is a lefthander who was a 3rd round pick out of Evergreen, Colorado, in 2014. He split the 2018 season between high-A and AA, and struck out 158 batters in 137.1 innings while walking 44.

Some info on the other two guys...Kyle Bird is a 25 year old lefthander who was a 35th round pick of the Rays in 2014. He was primarily a reliever last season, pitching in AA and AAA, and putting up a 2.39 ERA in 75.1 IP with 88 Ks against 35 walks. Yoel Espinal, 26, is a righthanded reliever out of the Dominican Republic. He split the 2018 season between high-A and AA, working 64 relief innings, striking out 79 and walking 32.

More info - In Burke, Texas gets a lefty whose velocity has ticked up to 97. One scout called him a “very underrated arm.” He should be big league-ready by 2020, if not sooner. White is a superutility type who really hit in AA this year. He could be in the big leagues before the end of 2019.

Good information to shed more light on things.

True. None of us really knows for sure. We just have to hope with us stockpiling the minors that it will pay off in a couple of years.

I think 100 losses was pretty much a sure thing before the trade

If was well below the over/under number that you came up with so that makes it seem that you didn't think so a few days back.

based on our roster right now what's your prediction on team wins for 2019: over/under 72
This makes it seem like you were expecting at least close to 72 wins and not 62 or less.
