My guess is games 1 and 3. LAA tee off on lefties, but Harry could do fine. Darvish will own them and I think because they haven't seen Dempster (aside from pujols) he'll be able to pitch around them. That said, this rotation setup gives us the best chance at sweeping them IMO.

Texas seems to own weaver in the big games. With as ineffective as he's been lately I expect they'll get to him. I think Wilson will toss another stinker. Greinke could give them trouble since they've never seen him before, but he's not been especially great lately and could crumble under the pressure of facing a lineup as powerful as Texas.

I have no stats to back this up..just an observation, but it seems like the last two stretch runs in September and the AL playoffs Rangers have done a really good job of making pitchers throw strikes by being more selective at the plate.

have you forgotten that Greinke pitched in KC?

vs. Texas: 3-5, 2.81 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, .242 opponent BA, 4.5 K/BB

Yes but that's been 2 years and he hasn't faced this team as it is now. Also, Greinke's been facing NL lineups nowhere near like the rangers.

They have seen Dempster. Remember his August 2nd start against them? 4.2 innings with 9 hits, 3 walks, and 8 earned runs. He's pitched a lot better since then, and I hope he can redeem himself against them this time.

Those teams were "in the hunt" ... this one seems to perform the minimum necessary to tread water defending its position.

I suppose this lineup could all of a sudden turn on the patience switch and make LAA pitchers work and then punish them.

I guess we will see what they are made of starting tomorrow night.

They have the best record in the AL so it would appear that somehow they have done a descent job of defending their turf up to now. But, so did the 64 Phillies. The next two weeks will be fun and interesting.

Next four nights of late night baseball will go a long way toward us knowing ... then 12 more after that.

Greinke doesn't bother me for some reason. I hope I'm not wrong.

Effectively with the new schedule ... the post season starts tomorrow night. From here on out ... it is the final round of the AL West championships.

Some pitchers perform well under the pressure of must win games. Zack Greinke and CJ Wilson histories haven't shown that they are on that list.

We'll see. TEX has to make them work very very hard ... every single pitch ... every single AB.

Weaver is very tough at home. Although he can flame out in a big game I see him winning game 1 and the Rangers the last 2.

I think 2 and 3 are more likely. Just don't see us getting at this rested version of Weaver. Wilson has sucked lately and Greinke will be doing a tryout and I'm sure putting extra pressure on his fragile psyche.
