Yeah, I think that is how they play it. When you have the tag at your disposal you should use it and be more patient. This Offense needs to figure out exactly what it's issue is. IMO we need an entirely new Offense. Our plays just don't seem to set up other plays and our patterns against the zone don't seem to use player A to get player B open like other teams do. Everyone else seems to coordinate things to make defenders choose what to do. We seem to have four guys out in four independent patterns.

I don't buy what Hurns is saying. Sure they do get open from time to time, but our receivers are not winning their match ups consistently enough.

Not at all discounting that Dak misses open receivers often enough.

Option C is to let Dak play out year 4 without an extension in place. See how he develops (hopefully under a new coaching staff). If he plays well and worthy of keeping, negotiate a team friendly deal or franchise tag. Then play the game again the next year. If Dak continues to falter into year 4 then you move on because he's not the guy.

Well yea, I think Dallas should definitely be looking at an early QB. Doesn't necessarily have to be 1st round, but definitely a high upside guy -- maybe round 2? Dak might be the guy, he might not, in my mind he has the rest of this year and next season to prove it. Draft a QB, lets say round 2, and if Dak proves to be the man, Dallas at least has a potentially valuable trade chip. If Dak falters then Dallas already has the next guy ready to go with a year of experience under his belt.

As I look at the roster right now, assuming Dallas lands ET3 in the off-season, next year's draft might be nearly all offense. The defense has young talent all over the place, and looks set for the foreseeable future. IMO the future primary needs on this team are obviously WR and TE, with the secondary needs being QB and OT.

WR and TE are a no brainer, and a QB would be prudent. I think OT is also a bigger need than many realize. T.Smith is obviously slowing down considerably, and I don't think I would re-sign Lael Collins after his current contract runs out.

I think anyone who watched the game saw that live. The only thing I will say is that picture is a little misleading. I think it is after it's already tipped a drop because I watched it in slo-mo after it happened and it was not the impossible catch it appears to be in that photo, but there is no way anyone can say it is Austin's fault IMO. I think people that were saying it wasn't Dak's fault were perhaps more saying it was only intercepted because it was tipped which is 100% true. If they said Austin "should" have caught it then that is not accurate. Could he have caught it? Of course, but you can't say he "should" have.

If you watch the play a couple of times like I did during the commercial you can see the middle of the line completed and immediately pushed back into Dak and then Zeke was tossed at his feet. It disrupted the play and you can see him leaning backwards right before he leans in to throw it. This has been a consistent problem for Dak with pressure up the middle. When his footwork is off he makes poor throws and you can see his arm angle is up a little on the release. But pressure or not that is on him because he was the one that made the decision to throw it and he was the one to actually throw the pass. I think that Austin was open enough that he made the right decision to throw it because he didn't need a perfect pass. He just needs to be able to get his throwing motion better or make the throw even without perfect balance and arm angle. The NFL is a tough business and a QB doesn't get a clean pocket all of the time and still needs to make plays

Heard Broaddus talking today - 2nd down after Tavons great return they had the exact play they wanted. They just didn’t block it well enough. It was the play Dak got sacked - not his fault. Jarwin was uncovered and would have likely got it to the 20.

this has happened lots of times this season and last season. He over threw Rico in the endzone and really not necessary to throw it that high. They talk about getting open, but there were several throws to Hopkins last night where he was covered well and it took good throws and Watson made those throws.

This is a "what have you done lately league" and Dak has been terrible since the Falcon game. I have waited patiently for Dak to get better, but maybe he peaked in 2016. Another major issue for Dak is he waits way too long to get the ball out. I was wrong about Kellen Moore. Whatever mechanics they have worked on it has made Dak worse.

I am ready for the change as well. I thought Garrett should have been gone after the 2015 season. The guy simply is clueless most of the time. Same game management gaffes over and over. He does not learn from mistakes. I still remember when he iced his own kicker and it cost the Cowboys the game. Ultimately it starts at the top though. I really don't care for the way Jerruh has assembled his coaches after Parcells left. Garretts thought process on not going for it on 4th down was loser mentality.

Too much talk of change. Let's ride this out without giving up. I'll worry about those things after the year. Things don't look fantastic but we are half a game out of first and the Eagles lost Ajayi for the year. They were already not playing better than us and Washington is getting crushed. Crazy as it seems we are in the thick of it. It's going to be a bumpy ride, but the league looks like it sucks this year and we may just prove to suck the least before all is said and done. Yep it was the play where Dak turned his back and faked it a couple of times. He didn’t have a chance. They had set it up from a previous play. Jarwin blocked first and then went. Broaddus said nobody went with him. Of course if you execute that, the Texans have 1 timeout. I think that play went to the 2 minute warning. You kneel a few times and kick the game winner.
