Kinda got lucky over the last few decades. 92 Barcelona 04 Athens and 12 London were all in Europe so I pretty much to go see them in current time. 96 Atlanta and 16 Rio weren't too bad either as they were about five hours behind. LA in 84, Seoul in 88, Sydney in 2000 and Beijing in 08 were a pain in the ass, even living in Europe.

I was too young for the 1980 Olympics to really care.

Tokyo has the biggest time difference for me at +16 hours

I agree with you. This team was thrown together. Teams from other countries have been play together for years. What's happening to Team USA right now is a great example of how chemistry can beat talent.

Well, yeah.

Since ‘92 the rest of the world has gotten a lot better at basketball.

The Dream Team wouldn’t win every game by 40+ if they were playing today either.

The Dream Team of 1992 would actually only win 55% of the games vs a modern version.

We've done whole threads on this.

The DT '92 had some roster spots that were pretty weak (Laettner, Bird and his ruined back, Magic's old ass) and they lacked modern shooting

A team of LeBron, KD, Curry, AD, Kawhi, PG, Dame, Klay, Harden, Butler, Adebayo, Cade Cunningham (to make it fair with a college kid) would go toe to toe with them

Damn good point. But there's no question this version of Team USA isn't as talented as others in the past.

Totally agree....if they did it on the fly with a healthy Kawhi, AD, Curry played, etc. they'd have better results.

Lot of guys are hurt and they also just basically completed one season and played a whole different season in a 9-10 month span

No doubt about that. As far as I'm concerned these Olympics are all fucked up. No fans just isn't right. I haven't seen the numbers today but for the past several days the number of positive virus cases has increased daily in the Olympic village. Yesterday I think it was 100-something.
