Your retarted
Wow, I'm guessing most of you Bear diehards were watching the conclusion of the Rams-Packers game. But for those who missed it, Ty Montgomery made the bonehead play of the week. Let me give you the set up.
The Rams had just pulled ahead on a FG for a 29-27 lead with 2:05 left in the game. I bolded the time because this is key. It should be noted here that GB had one timeout remaining. So the Rams kick off and Montgomery takes it about 3-4 yards in the endzone. He ran it out and got hit around the 20 yard line or so where he subsequently fumbled the ball back to the Rams. It's not the fumble per se that I called this a huge mistake, altho it obviously ended up costing the Packers the game. But it's his decision to run it out that I thought was really a poor decision. It immediately started the clock running past the 2 minute warning. Even if he hadn't fumbled, he would have ended up at best on the 20 instead of downing it with the ball on the 25, as well as costing the Packers a free time out with the loss of the 2 minute warning that still would have been in play had he downed the kickoff. Who knows how it would have ended if the Pack kept the ball - we all know how dangerous Rodgers is even with less than 2 minutes and a timeout still in his pocket. With an additional extra 'time out' due to the warning, it would have made him even more dangerous. As it stands, we are now back in 2nd place, and pending Minny's game against the red hot Saints, we may even be back in a tie for first by day's end. Thank you Ty.
