Smith concerns me. Bucs traditionally have had problems with rookie QBs. Not sure why but they seem to give the Bucs troubles.

If you are in an eliminator pool, jump off the Bucs bandwagon.

Should be pretty decent actually. Big Mo in the middle of that D Line has been a bright spot for them. He was second in the league in tackles behind JJ Watt last year I believe (maybe tackles for losses?). Getting to the QB has been their problem.

In all seriousness the jets defense is pretty decent. They had top 5 numbers last year but some of that was due to the fact they played just about the worst offenses in the nfl during the later part of the year so I don't think they were that good. I think they are possible going to really be a top 5 defense this year and it is one of the few bright spots jets fans can look forward to.

Their 2 weakness last year were against the run and getting pressure on the QB. I think they are likely to be better in both areas this year. They aren't going to be a very good team but they have enough talent, at least on defense, to make it a long day if your team's offense isn't having a good day. Most fans of other teams should expect their team to come away with a win after playing them but they aren't going to find it easy until the team gets totally demoralized by the end of the year by how the offense is playing.

Thanks.

My understanding is that the Jets' secondary is awful since Revis has left. If what you say is true, they will force Freeman to throw. That should make it interesting. Of course Doug Martin will try to get some carries in there as well.

Can't wait!

If I were a Pats fan I'd be more concerned with Miami. The Jets are more like the Cessnas.

Last yaer it wasn't good, but they looked good in the preseason. Outside of 1 play they were stout vs the run. Our DL looked pretty dominant.

and the dolphins are more like the flounders...

LET'S GO JETS!!!

Well to be honest, and it is nothing to be proud of, in both the AFC East and AFC West it would take every single starter for the pats and broncos to die in a cessna crash for the pats or broncos to lose those divisions and even then I don't think it would be that certain a thing.

That said, for years the 4 worst teams in the entire NFL resided in the NFC west and look how that has turned out. Nothing stays the same forever.

Rex Ryan has a history of good pass defenses. His exotic defense makes it tough on Qbs. Our safeties are weak, but our CBs are good and we are deep at the position. Cromartie is a top 5-10 CB. Milliner is a top 10 pick, unproven but has lots of talent. Darrin Walls is a guy no one knows yet, but he looked fantastic in the preseason. Our DL is the best its been in a long time. Wilkerson is becoming elite, Richardson looks like a stud, and Harrison looks like a real gem. Ellis looked beastly vs the Lions too. Leger Douzable was the highest rated DL in the league this preseason according to PFF.

The Bucs are fortunate that Coples isn't going to play though, hes probably our best pass rusher.

Jets should have kept Tebow, and Ryan should have stayed fat....okay that's enough about the irrelevant jets.

First you quote me than you ask says who? I'm basing it on his play in college. If there isn't a D to play against, he'll hit open recievers all day long. But put him under pressure and watch him fold, take bad sacks, safety etc. He isn't tuff so when he rolls out and gets nailed NFL style....you'll see him audible to the RB's for the rest of the game.

If Geno is the Jets future, all the AFC East will be very happy. The Jet's seem to heading for the basement and a race to a top 5 pick. There are lots of good QB's coming out next year. Boyd, Manziel, McCarron, Murray and Bridgewater to name a few.

One of them may be the Jets future.

Ok, so basically it was just your opinion which means shit. Gotcha.

So basically there is something other than an opinion prior to something happening?

I remember being pretty sure the jets were going to have a worse record than 8-8 last year well before the season began and you and guys like hustler being just as sure it would be significantly better. That was really just opinion on both sides but only one turned out to be shit.

I haven't thought very much of sanchez for a while. You clearly turned the corner on that last year (I guess your opinion was "shit" on that one too before then) but if you don't think the jets are much worse of than they would have been now that they have to start geno smith, your delusional.

My mind isn't made up about smith at this point. He did have problems in college with pressure sometimes, but the fact that he had a terrible offensive line throughout his college career maybe had something to do with it. He also had a couple of the better college receivers prospects to work with, and has never had to work with the likes of the keystone cops he has got to work with now. He showed some real abilities in college as well as some questionable judgment to offset that. He could turn out to be great but he is clearly a work in progress right now and his being thrown into the season is not by design, it is out of desperation.

Rex doesn't' want him starting at this point no matter how he feels about sanchez; no reasonable football person would.

The bodies of Joe Robbie and Danny Thomas are exhumed and the dolphins rise again from the trash heap they have been in for most of the last couple of decades to nfl respectability!

There is a Hallmark movie in there somewhere:nod:
