While I think he felt disrespected is one part of this, I also think he feels he can better monetize this if he does his own ceremony/party... as for the latter is probably him getting horrible advice and following it, which would be par for the course for him.

I just think it was an awful decision on his part. Not attending just reinforces how much of a jackass he really is.

Not surprising at all. TO is a nut and wouldn't be surprised if he flipped a month from now.

His huge ego.

No doubt. Which doesn’t explain why a guy like Jerry Kramer waited 40 years. Nor does it explain why Drew Pearson still isn’t in. Neither of those guys have an ego. Hell - it’s a good thing he didn't play baseball. He would still be waiting.

It (Hall of Fame voting) ain’t fair. Never has been and never will be. T.O.’s problem is he thinks it should be. As an old Chief Master Sergeant once told me - suck it up, Sunshine. Only fair I’m aware of is at Fair Park in Dallas every October.

overall, i think it's a poor decision on his part. that being said, i thought his statement leaves the door open a bit to see where this goes. that being said, i've always been a fan.

Really? What a dumb question. Well to answer it he's telling them to fuck off by not showing up.

Exactly, and why do you think he is doing that?

Unlike in baseball, off-field things aren't supposed to be considered w/ HOF voting. Charles Manson could've been a HOFer if he averaged 20 sacks a year.
his career stats were very good, but i don't think he led the league in receiving very many seasons.

he was talented on the field, but that seemed to be offset by his locker room issues.

You're insane. He's not giving a middle finger to the voters. He's telling the HOF itself to fuck off. So you really think it's okay that he's the only guy ever to not show up?

meh, he's just looking for more attention.

At this point, he won't have one.
Sure of he retires tomorrow . But he won't. He's going to end up top 5-10 I'm nearly every relevant passing stat , have at least 1 MVP and 1 Super Bowl appearance ( minimum ) and he's currently top 3 all time in playoff QB ratibg . Thats a substabtially better resume than a lot of QBS who are already in Canton . 5 or 6 more typical years and he's a lock

If Michael Irvin is a HOFer, TO is a unanimous decision IMO. TO was leaps & bounds better than Michael Irvin was.

Don't be a homer. That wasn't a slight on Irvin.

Ignoring currently players & Calvin Johnson (didn't play as long), Jerry Rice, TO & Randy Moss & Larry Fitzgerald are probably the 4 most dominant receivers who ever played.

irvin was an integral part of 3 super bowl championship teams, as well as being a great receiver.

Yes, but the HOF is an individual honor.

Like I said earlier, this isn't a slight on Irvin. It's just that people forget how dominant TO was.

Being weird & kind of a douche nozzle notwithstanding.
