I'm not sure this makes the case he thinks it does. One might say the story is the first time the calls went against you, you lost...

There were some bad calls against both teams early. I’m glad it was never a close game though. Chiefs whining about refs is priceless!

Was not expecting that type of result... at least not from an Andy Reid team with 2 weeks to plan.

• Suprised KC only had 1 rush attempt in first 4 series they had the ball... must of had no faith in the running game... but still think you have to at least try to keep defense pass rush somewhat honest
• KC defense needed to keep them in the game... but they shot themselves in the foot couple times early and got no help from KC offense...
  • 2 penalties early that extended Eagles series that allowed for scores (McDuffie unnecessary roughness and lining up in neutral zone)
  • 2 interceptions gifted 14 points to Eagles
• Without the penalties to extend and 2 gift interceptions halftime score could have been much more manageable for Chiefs if they could have found adjustments that worked.
• Truth is... Chiefs did not find any answers in 3rd period either... Eagles just that dominant on DL

Eagles deservedly won the Super Bowl... would have preferred a team defense MVP... they won the game for Philly

They have never had calls go against them. Most often they go against their opponents at critical times in a game.
Mahomes and Kelce couldn't pull off a miracle and kick the winning FG with two seconds left on the clock. Like six previous games in 2024.

I would still expect the Chiefs with Mahomes to get back to the playoffs, only because Mahomes is the QB and he is the best there is now at the position.

But I do wonder how much not getting the "3-peat" may play into a "hangover" however that is defined. I think the "3-peat" is something Mahomes and the Chiefs really wanted... it was a big target for this season and now it is not there for 2025, I think it may be somewhat of a letdown.

I have read Jerry Kramer's book "Instant Replay" a couple of times (one of his sons is my mom's neighbor)... that book details the Packers 1967 season and their quest for a 3-peat. It was an obsession for Lombardi to get the 3-peat that year... the team felt it and lived it the entire season.

Coming out with a commanding lead in the sb and keeping the pressure on Mahomes then a FG … then another stop and then what turned out to be the dagger with a 46 yard dime by Hurts when everyone expected them to eat clock … even Brady sounded a bit like madden being surprised by the call and execution

Yeah I was impressed with how the Eagles kept their foot on the pedal even after being up 24-0 at half, they didn’t get complacent and let the Chiefs get back in it, and that deep pass TD from Hurts to Smith was the dagger. Very impressive performance from Philly all around.

it makes me wonder if Isaiah Pacheco had re-injured himself, or for whatever reason was nowhere near 100%. And where the hell was Kareem Hunt? Hell, Samaje Perrine could've at least had a FEW snaps, maybe some screen passes out of the backfield or something.
