It's amazing to me that with every new game people think this is the team that's going to stop Atlanta. This will be a great game imo but the NE D has NO CHANCE to stop Atlantas offense. Elite offenses, historically elite, can only be stopped by ELITE defenses. New England has a good defense maybe even very good but that is irrelevant. They can't stop Atlanta. If New England wins it will be because they score 35-38+. If they don't crack 30 they lose. Period.

Atlanta has a very good offense, but remember, you were playing at home vs a Seahawks defense that wasn't at full strength, and a GB defense that was ranked 31st in the league in pass coverage... Pats are 12th, Atlanta is 28th in pass defense... Pats are also 8th in total defense, Atlanta is 25th in total defense.... Who does that favor ? Tom Brady is gonna shred Atlanta's secondary... Matt Ryan is good, you guy's have some weapons, but this game in on a neutral field under the spotlight and your O is not gonna flow like it was in the Georgia dome...

Well it's flowed like that pretty much every game this year especially the last half of the year. I'm under no illusions that Atlanta will stop NE. In fact I've never once said Atlanta will win. Pre playoff I picked NE 35 Atlanta 34. Not sure what I'm feeling now. I'll probably wait til a few days before the game to decide but let me be clear. The NE defense isn't good enough to hold Atlanta down the way they're playing the last 2/3 of the season. They simply are not good enough. That's not a slight. New England has a fine D. It's just not good enough but then again no other D in the league this year is either

I'm smelling a double digit Pats win.

Atlanta was lucky to have Crosby miss a FG and Ripkowski fumble at the time those happened. 3 times at least the ball could have turned over.

The Pats get fat on shit like that.

Pats offense isn't exactly chopped liver. Defense wears a paper grocery bag like the old Unknown Saints Fans used to. Except they deserve recognition.

Jones might be big but Butler has bigger balls..... And 10 toes.

Yes Atlanta was lucky they ripped the ball out of Rips hands and that Crosby missed. Otherwise they only would've won by 13vinstead of 23

Just saying, turning points. Like the Wee One Wilson's toe stepping safety after the big play call back.

Things that change the game early.

Pats get fat on stuff like that....

Bell and Brown are studs but if you're playing a sandlot game and picking teams 5 of the top 7 picks play for Atlanta. It's easier to game plan 2 guys ( Bell and Brown ) than it is 5 ( Jones, Freeman, Coleman, Sanu, Gabriel) and that doesn't even account for Ryan substantially better than Ben this year

We'll just put this right here.

Yesterday,

Julio Jones 9 catches, 180 yards, 2 tds

Chris Hogan 9 catches, 180 yards, 2 tds

Now I'm not suggesting Chris is better than Julio, but I am pointing out that New England's offence is as good if not better than Atlanta's.

True, no super elite defenses were part of this season, but just looking at a this match-up the Patriots defense is pretty stout, they stop the run well, and they have a respectful secondary... And hey, i'm not implying you guy's don't have a chance, your in the Bowl so you have a chance... I would just be surprised if the Falcons offense kept up the same pace away from home with the pressure and spotlight of the Super-Bowl ...

It's really not based on being at home. Atlanta put up 40+ 3 times on the road this year. But hey there's no point in worrying about it. Everyone will see in a few weeks

There offense is elite no doubt... But remember, human nature play's a part in the spotlight... Nerves kick in, as much as players try to just play, it's hard to block out all the noise... So it all depends on how Atlanta handles that part of it..

That's fair. Same holds for New England. They'll have a lot of first timers as well. Either way I'm excited. Think it's gonna be a great game

The Patriots have the better defense and that will be the difference.

Well young-in at least you'll be able to tell this story for many years to come. How your team was part of the TB12 reveng tour. How you and Goodell shared an all you can eat crow buffet.

Nearly everyone has a better defense than Atlanta. It just doesn't matter
I must have missed the Falcons going 16-0.

Don't forget that you faced the 32nd, 31st, 26th, 23rd, and 21st ranked defenses in 5 of your last 6 games. The one good defense you did face, Seattle, had given up 24.5 points per game since Earl Thomas went down. That would rank them 22nd in the NFL this year.

I get a feeling we get that "Just happy to be here" Atlanta team....While you get the seasoned, experienced team whose only goal is to win it

Since 2001, Pats are 12-0 in the playoffs against teams they didn't face in the regular season.

This is the time of year where you notice the greatness of BB

I think New England will have a lot of success offensively

Atlanta has had the best offense in the NFL

But somehow, BB will come up with a way to slow that offense, while Quinn wont

Reminds me a lot of some old Pats/Colts matchups, when BB used to undress Dungy, the Colts typically entered those games with the better offense

It doesn't hold the same for New England. Brady and Belichick have been to so many Super Bowls this is like a freakin' preseason game for them at this point. All the other players have been along for the ride the last 17 years.

For Atlanta, it's "we are just happy to be here" mode.

Ryan is a very good QB and his time will come. Not this year though. This is Brady's revenge tour. Too many intangibles facing the Falcons.
