Saying NE isn't good enough to stop Atlanta from scoring isn't the same thing as saying NE can't win. Brady is the best QB I've ever seen and while our D is getting better it's still just average. This game will likely be one of the highest scoring Super Bowl game ever. It's just hilarious to listen to you guys " oh BB will figure something out to stop Atlanta". Lol. Atlanta has 5 number 1 or 2 type RB/WR talents and the best QB in the league this year. Your D has no chance. If NE wins it'll be because Brady balls out, which he is entirely capable of

Slow down a little bit there

Freeman/Coleman/Julio are all top tier type players

Sanu is capable of having a day or getting completely shut down

And Gabriel is a Home Run threat going against a defense well known for not surrendering the HR

But I wish you the best

Butler was on Antonio Brown with help on the top from McCourty. But this is probably because BB didn't respect the Steelers secondary receivers. I wouldn't be surprised to see Logan Ryan on Julio Jones with the same help on top. And Butler on an island with Sanu.

I have no idea, but don't assume Belichick to do the expected and put Butler on Jones.

The Pats will look to shut down the big plays and force Ryan to dink and dunk down the field. Then force FGs. This is how they play defense.
Ryan doesn't throw bombs that much. Most of his passes are 8-15 yards down the field . Atlanta gets big plays because their receivers are freak athletes who are bigger stronger and faster than your DBS. That 12 yard slant becomes a 73 yard TD. Atlanta has like 2× more YAC than most other teams. New England tackles very well so that will help them but it's still gonna happen

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Eric Rowe+McCourty on Jones.

Sanu and Gabriel are both easily number 2 quality guys

There were 0 teams that Atlanta had double the YAC.

Gabriel hasn't had a 100 yard game or more than 6 targets in a game this season

Think he's a nice #3

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Eric Rowe+McCourty on Jones.

Maybe because Rowe has a little more size. I just wonder if Belichick trusts him enough after seeing too many bone-headed plays from him.

This is proof one people don't watch Atlanta. Julio isn't our down field guy. Gabriel is. There are already 8 games this year where JJ has 4 catches or less on games. Atlanta scores MORE per game in those games. Lol. If Belichick doubles Julio Atlanta will win by double digits. God this is so great. Literally a bunch of tards commenting on a team that they clearly haven't watched at all this year. The Monday after THE SB is gonna be sweet
They've scored 32.67 points per game when Jones catches 4 or fewer passes (6 games, not 8). And they've scored 34.1 points per game when he catches 5+.

Are you sure you've watched them this year?

On a per pass basis I doubt that. Ryan was likev20th in the league in attempts and Atlanta was easily number 1 or 2 in YAC. Only other team that'd be maybe ahead is NO. And that's because Brees throws it 50 times per game

Talent wise he's a 2. I'm not talking production. No one is going to have huge targets in ATL. I don't think Julio even broke 85 catches this year

6.37 YAC per reception. Texans are last with 3.85.

Oh right, the two games he missed.

Okay so they've scored 31.25 points per game in games he hasn't caught more than 4 passes.

Your point is still wrong.

Falcons had the good fortune to play a schedule that featured only 4 or 5 (If you count the Chiefs away from home) excellent defenses. In those games they scored in the mid 20's or less and they lost 4 out of 5.

I take that back. Tampa's defense was statistically average at best, yet they still held them to 24 pts in game 1.

Atlanta played the 2nd best defensive schedule in the league.

Yeah I'm an idiot. I was looking at the wrong year when I plugged in the games missed number. Okay let me change my point:

34.1 points per game when he catches 5+ receptions, 34.9 points per game when he catches 0-4.

In those 8 games, you faced the 15th, 31st, 4th, 21st, 14th, 23rd, 32nd, and 26th ranked defense in PPG allowed. The only time you faced a top 10 defense that shut down Julio Jones, Falcons scored 23 points. Sounds like a recipe for success.

LOL I appreciate the honesty. I'm not an idiot I know 90% of non Falcons fans haven't watched them more than 1 or 2 times at most. That's why I don't get mad when people don't get how good the offense is. If you don't know you don't know. It's not like the media does a bang up job of covering it lol

I'm still in the afterglow. :) There will be two weeks to start looking at Atlanta seriously. There are analysts around who are already on the Falcons bandwagon. Prisco from CBS sports loves them.

The main point is that while maybe scores of fans and media people may not have been paying attention, Belichick and staff certainly will be. And so hopefully the team.

That "In Bill we trust" thing. He's far from perfect and has certainly made mistakes (pooch punts anyone) but he generally knows his stuff. ;)
