New England Patriots sign Steven Jackson

New England signed veteran Steven Jackson Monday, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. The 32-year-old, who has more than 11,000 career rushing yards and 68 rushing touchdowns, last played for the Falcons back in 2014.

ESPN first reported the development.

In his prime, Jackson was a legitimate dual-threat back and while he likely cannot pick up the Dion Lewis section of the playbook and burn a Nickel linebacker on a wheel route, his versatility should aid a Patriots offense constantly trying to cope with the loss of star power. The Patriots also inked Montee Ball to their practice squad last week, though they ended up promoting fullback Joey Iosefa to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans. Iosefa went on to lead the team with 56 yards rushing.

Man if you put him in the backfield with Iosefa that's certainley going to be some beef back there.
I think BB uses him primarily as a blocker to protect Brady. Especially, if the Pats decide to start resting some guys like Gronk?
He may get a few carries and a couple screens thrown his way? I can't imagine he's anywhere near football shape?
In BB we trust.

Well as long as he can get in the way of a blitzing guy so give TB a couple of seconds he will be in good enough shape for me.

I was thinking the same thing. Have him study Suh films for the next two weeks and use him as a spy to keep Suh away from TB. I wouldn't trust Suh to not try and injur Brady.
Suh that POS has nothing to lose AGAIN.
