Two totally different skillets. Steve Nash ain't Pat Riley. But yeah Kerr was more prepared.
Nobody is Pat Riley.

When guys have 15+ season careers I gotta assume if you'd trust em to be a GM, you'd trust em to be HC. Idk.

I ask, cuz I think I know why Kenny didn't go to work last night.

How long you think Nash lasts?
No idea, it's pretty hit and miss with coaches. I'm not a believer in the Kyrie KD combo so I am not sure he will last long but who knows

Interesting hire.

This could be really good for Kyrie if he is willing to be coached.

This is obviously a swing for the fences type of hire. It could go horribly wrong, but it is bold and I like it.

Nets just have to be willing to move on after a year if it isn’t working.

I hope that isn’t why.

Do Jacque Vaughn and Ty Lue deserve NBA head coaching jobs?

Yes.

But each organization needs to have the flexibility to be able to pick the guy they want. Now, if a franchise displays a pattern of always picking the white candidate over the black candidate, that is a different story.

A quick glance at the Nets coaching history proves that is not the case.

Kenny smith was on Toronto radio yesterday and it was simply his day off from the panel.

Steven A Smith is an idiot as well

Doc Rivers.
Steve Kerr
Jason Kidd
Amongst many who have been hired without experience

Apparently durant and Nash have become very close as well

Agree. Plus, basketball is different than other sports. Star players have much more say in who the head coach is.

This hire doesn't happen if KD doesn't want it or agree with it.

Did Steve Kerr?
Derek Fisher had none either, Jason Kidd and in fact I dont think Pat Riley had much when he took over the Lakers and neither did Magic Johnson, but that was a hire I didn't expect.. lol

As long as the team has a winning record.

lol

I wouldn't go that far. 42-40 is a winning record, but with Kyrie and KD on the team, it won't be enough for him to keep his job.

They will likely be the favorites to come out of the East next year. So my guess would be, they have to at least make the ECF for him to truly be safe.

The funny thing about that is that Stephen A knows better. He knows that there is no way Nash gets that job if KD doesn't want him there.
