They better pray he is another Steve Kerr or this will be a disaster

So, another time Nash following in Kidd's footsteps.

Good for Nash. Maybe one day he’ll hold a position in the Suns organization. Nash is a curious case post-playing career though. It seems the only time he actually returned to Phoenix and acknowledged his career here was to accept his induction to the ring of honor. It’s like he doesn’t understand the impact he had in Phoenix.

Nash will have to be a miracle-worker in order to take a situation where Kyrie Irving and KD are the "braintrust" who are really in charge and have all the power behind the scenes... and somehow make that work.

Nash has been a special assistant with the Warriors for the past several seasons. So it's not like he's coming in completely fresh, he'll have some sort of background as to what goes on and what he'll need to do to become successful. In addition having a previous history with KD already is going to go a long ways towards navigating the locker room.

But yeah, based on the way the Nets are built right now, they don't have time to waste 2-3 seasons figuring out if Nash is going to be the next Kerr. They have to hope he posts immediate results.

Except Nash has a super team now...
Time will tell. Kyrie is good if he can keep his head on. Durant is great. LeVert's touches will go down, but he's solid. Allen is solid in the middle. Harris won't get as many touches, but is a guy who does the unseen stuff without plays called for him. Should definitely be a good team if everyone is healthy, but I'm not sure a super team. Definitely higher in the standings, but don't see them coming out of the east.

This seems like an odd hire. Everyone keeps making comparisons to Kerr , but he at least had some experience around teams in a front office role beforehand. Nash was just a special assistant, which just a fancy way of saying he comes around the team from time to time to give guys some personal coaching tips. You gotta figure that since he was a special assistant for the Warriors while Durant was there, it was KD that was pushing or the very least ok with him being the guy. Fwiw, Woj is saying Jacque Vaughn is staying with the team as the lead assistant.

This is a head scratcher. Nash is a cool guy but this seems like a stretch. I'd love to see him succeed, however.

Maybe he thinks the city of Phoenix sucks? I mean how you doing?

It will only take Kyrie about 25 games to say he doesn't like the new coach or the city of Brooklyn.

What a slap in the face to Jacque Vaughan.

Does Nash even have any coaching experience at all?
