Not surprising. MVP is for the best player that season and with his ungodly stats and the team's 73 wins... it was no contest.

The 'unanimous' aspect of this is a cool distinction for Curry and for his team... but I hesitate to make too much of it in terms of comparing to previous MVPs. 1 unorthodox voter is all it takes. IMO, there have been "unanimous" MVPS before in terms of everyone knowing who deserved the MVP. We've just never had a truly unanimous MVP in terms of voting #s.

Oh, no doubt....

Lebron got screwed by the Carmelo vote.

if Curry got hit by a bus tomorrow would he make the hall of fame? i think you could make cases for both...though the against is probably a better case.

If Bron got hit by a bus tomorrow he is already top 10 of all time. And the bus would be FUCKED UP.

Put his career next to Lebron's at the six year mark.

Both have 2 Mvp's. But, only one would have a ring.
 @ the bus being fucked up!!!!!,,

Sixers need a pgd and outside shooting.

But, they so need a sf.

Bron can facilitate as good as anyone.

So, tough choice....

I'd probably go Curry by a nose because he could space the floor better for Noel and Okafor.

Well, to be fair, the guy responsible for hosing the bus down would have to put in a little extra effort on the grill area, for sure

Anyway, Kawhi Leonard got robbed. Nobody else deserved it.

I thought Kawhi deserved it the most too. Remember when he couldn't shoot worth a lick in his rookie year!? Whoever is the Spurs shooting coach is a savior.

I'm starting to believe his ceiling could be a Scottie Pippen's.

Carmelo, the guy barely knows what the playoffs are. Though it is hard for any team to make the playoffs when you have a black hole in the middle of the court.

Pretty lame argument when we again have to consider the sample size in each case. Clearly LBJ has played longer and is closer to the end of his rather than the beginning of it. Curry isn't at the end of his prime- is probably just hitting his stride to be honest. It will be interesting to see what his career will look like when he's approaching retirement.

:hellno: hating!

Not exactly- he went basically every year when he was in Denver in the WC. Since moving to the EC not so much.

psh...6 year mark....

Curry is like 3 years younger than Lebron...

when Curry was playing Mercer and Denison LeBron was making 1st team all nba's.

and yes- i hope this is construed as good natured trash talk for what i think everyone HOPES is the eventual NBA Finals.

What up, Mecca?

As you well know, I don't know shit about basketball, but last week I spent some time with a high school basketball coach from Missouri who has been the head coach of a team that has won the state championship. With those credentials, he knows more about basketball than most of us (certainly me), and is not biased between Curry or James.

I asked him two questions.

1) Age/position in career arcs notwithstanding, if you could pick either player who do you take?

It wasn't a fast answer. He said that the Warriors have a perfectly complementary style of play for Curry's abilities. He thought Curry is clearly the better shooter, but needs a team built around his style. He said he thinks Lebron is more versatile and has a significant physical advantage. Ultimately, he said he'd take Lebron.

2) If you cloned Curry and replaced Lebron on the 2014/2015 Cavs with one of the Currys, would they have as much success as the Lebron Cavs had.

This was a fast answer. No.

That's all I've got.
