Reports are bel is sitting out till week 10
I think if that happens then week 9 the Steelers should just rescind the tag. Then Bell is a FA in the middle of the season, after bye weeks, likely out of shape. Sure they miss out on 7 games with him but if he shows up for week 10 then by the time he is ready to roll it's week 12. I'd give up 4 games to set the precedent to players that if you want to play hardball then let's play.

Everyone is well within their rights to do what is best for them, that includes the team.

Pouncey sure does like to talk shit about a lot of other people. Last year it was Harrison. This year it’s Bell. Tomlin needs to tell these guys that none of this talk helps the team.

All these fat ass offensive linemen talking about Bell, wondering if they plan on returning the 26k watches he gave them for Christmas

Doing that would make Bell an unrestricted free agent and he could sign with anyone. The only reason he would play 6 games this year is to force the Steelers hand for next year. The franchise tag for a 3rd year is just plain stupid for the Steelers fiscally and everyone knows they will not do it. If they pull the tag he does not need the season credit because he can sign with anyone for any amount.

Plus if they just release them I’m pretty sure that negatively affects the compensatory pick

As he should, his client played 91% of the snaps last year. Too much!

That is insane. I can't really blame him for holding out and only playing the minimum number of games. The Steelers are looking out for them and Bell is looking out for his best interest. He is not going to allow himself to become the next Demarco Murray.

Well apparently he lied to his teammates about coming back.

But go on about how this guy won't mail it in once he's paid.

He didn't mail it in last year and he was on a franchise tag without long term security.

I wish these guys would keep this to themselves, but on the flip side this is a line that sounds ready to block like they never have before for Conner.

I am on the teams side on this one.
he outpriced himself from the market. Thats on Bell &/or his agent, not the team.
