How in the hell was that roughing?

These penalties are a joke.

I guess because his hand touched his face? I don't know. I could see a justifiable call of holding, though both guys were doing that.

Yup. The initial grab was by the Rangers. When the hand went up I assumed they were getting called for it.

Pens need a shorty so we can start talking about what the score is.

Game 1 is over. No way the Pens are getting 3 goals past Henrik.

Please, interference and holding aren't called in the playoffs.

Unless you're Taylor Chorney, and you're hip checking a guy as the puck goes past your stick. But if you grab Hornqvist and hold him in place so your D partner can retrieve the puck, it isn't interference.

The Rangers blueline is the best in the NHL. size, defense, just enough offense where every single one of them contributes, and the best transition passing game in the league as well IMO.

No

Not hard for this Flyers fan to admit the Rangers are the best team in hockey right now.

Way to keep the expectations high Pens.

-Give up an early goal - check
-Fleury gives up a weak goal - check
- Play half the period short handed - check

I won't be shocked if the Pens blow it up this summer. I think anybody but Sidney Crosby is fair game for trade.

Didn't get that one either. Guys counter hit as they approach the puck all the time. Thought he made a nice play.

Bad calls aside, Rangers are totally controlling this game. Pens' blue liner passes once getting the puck are god awful, giving the puck right back to the Rags almost every time.

Marginal calls or not, why do the Pens keep making it possible to call them? Always doing dumb stuff right in front of the ref. This is what happens when you're a step slower and 20 lbs lighter than the opponent. Taking penalties because you're ALWAYS out of position.

The roughing and interference calls were not out of position calls, so... yeah.

Perron's was a legit penalty, Kunitz was called for a soft goalie interference, but maybe they were calling the cumulative bumping so fine, but those other two? Wowsers. Especially considering the type of abuse Dubinsky and Staal laid on Crosby last year.

I especially liked how Hundqvist was just totally interfered with while the puck was behind the net and the refs had no problem with that.

Anyway, Rangers don't need help from the refs, but apart from a brutal early rebound from Fleury, Pens are playing better than expected, all things considered. Mind you my expectations were really low.
