Not a hater but I have criticized his accuracy. I've also always said he was heady and can make plays few QBs can make. He was great today. His only real mistake was the 1 where he didn't see Lee and even then he got back and slowed him down enough to keep him out of the end zone.... temporarily.

its one thing to point out his consistent flaws, its another thing to hate him. I have never said the lions would be better without him, I have never asked for the lions to bring in a new QB. It's true, his accuracy could use some work. He wasn't perfect today either, but when it mattered, staffy stepped up, and thats what great QB's do. That throw to durham was awesome. On the run, and right on the dot. That's what id like to see more of.

I think people confuse missed throws with poor accuracy. Stafford's accuracy this year has not been a problem.

Even the best QBs will miss some throws. Luckily the league keeps track of completion percentage, and in that regard Stafford has been quite accurate indeed...

He came in to today's game 15th in the NFL as far as completion percentage. That's just out of starters. Such "greats" as Terrelle Pryor, Tony Romo, Jay Cutler, Matt Ryan, Russel Wilson, Andy Dalton, Cam Newton, Jake Locker and Houston fan favorite Matt Schaub were all above him. That's not hate. That's just the facts folks. Ryan Tannehill occupied the next spot below him. (This was coming into today). If so many Lions fans weren't blind homers,(I mean ridiculously blind, blatant homers) when it comes to Staff, it probably wouldn't look like hate when various posters, myself DEFINITELY included, are critical of his game. I know most of those names are also beyond reproach, (thats hardcore sarcasm)so Ill try to never, ever, wish Stafford could improve. (I've never seen anyone on this board state they want him traded, cut or even benched. Never read anyone say he sucks or even that he isn't good. But I have read rational posts in regards to hoping he can stay consistent, make accurate throws downfield and improve his overall game). I respect what he did to bring the Lions back today. And appreciate the plays he made to do so. But in saying that, I don't forget the plays(really just one really bad slant pass to an open linebacker) he made, along with fumbles from Reggie and CJ, that forced Detroit to have to come back. We won, and Staff led the team to that win. That's really te only stat I care about. And to me, that stat is on the QB as much as the coaching staff. (I know it's usually just the Ls that go to coaches around here)

I'll take middle of the pack accuracy and improving for our 25 year old QB.

You say you want improvement, he's showing that he can improve. He was like 68 percent or so today. That's outstanding. There's guys like manning and Brees re-writing the record books the last few years when it comes to completion percentage, but 65% is historically very good for what it's worth...

Current numbers in the passing game can't be compared to past eras. It's a different game in that respect. There are three guys over 70 for the season, that's quite good.(it's absurd) I have no problem giving Staff credit, when it's due. But it's hard for me to stand by while Lions fans try to pass him off as something he's not. Which is anything other than mediocre when it comes to accuracy. When it comes to arm strength, he's in a group that few will ever join. Most everyone else is just physically incapable. He's got a lot to work with. And that's a good thing. And the best option there is on the other end of his passes(14 today). And that's real damn good too.

That's at drive against Dallas, he was fucking unbelievable. The passes couldn't have been more accurate. That was one of the better finishes I've seen in a long while.

Did you happen to see the Lions first half last week? (Consistency is an issue, at times. Which means its an issue). That question wasn't hatred, just a question.

No, I didn't see it but Stafford reminds me of a streak shooter in basketball. He's either off or he's money. Mcnabb was a lot like that. I think Stafford will continue to get better. He's still very young. I would love to have him as my QB. He has all the tools and is a bright kid.
